This subject came up in discussion at Busters today and was wondering if anybody knows the rule, or even if there is a rule? What are the requirements to play as a US team member? Must you have been born in US? Or just a citizen? I believe Mika for example lives in the US, not sure of his citizenship. I think there are numerous foreign born players who now live in the US....so,..does anyone know the rule or if there even is one? Seriously, we don't even know where our own President was born !

My guess is that there is no rule, but citizenship should be a minimum.

Wow !

Over 100 views and nobody knows, I know there are some very knowledgable people out there so that leads me to believe that there is no rule?

I'm not sure there is an actual written rule, keeping in mind that it's Matchroom's show. But it almost for sure has to be citizenship. Even for the Olympics a competitor doesn't have to be native born to represent a country.

Well Matchroom once had a Brazilian player in the European Masters and he travelled from there. Lee Chen Man has represented Hong Kong, England and Scotland in various Matchroom events. So the rules are there are no rules

Anybody answer this?

I've tried but can't find an answer...anybody ?? There must be a rule SOMEWHERE?

It's Matchroom's show so the rules are whatever it says they are. No need to write anything in stone; that would only lessen Matchroom's flexibility.
