Mosconi cup on espn3

Is the Cup on espn3 again this year?

I was just wondering that myself. I checked the schedule repeatedly over the last two weeks and there isn't a mention of it. It shows the tournament of champions and trick shot tournaments on the weekends in December, but no word on the mosconi cup.

*pure speculation!!!

They may do this on purpose every year, to try to sell the ppv package. Because the espn3 announcement seems to be late, but the ppv announcement is early. Again, this is pure speculation and I have absolutely nothing to base it on:)

Wendy and I are coming:p:p:p
We shall be there no matter what everyone else have to say :thumbup::thumbup:
I will show all of you a few amazing jump shots:thumbup:

Well, alright then....but don't jump the gun

It actually popped up on my Facebook feed that it was exactly one year ago today that they had it confirmed for ESPN3 for last year. Hopefully we will see something very soon.

It was only 2 days before the cup last year when it started showing up the ESPN3 site. Johnnyt

I can't remember a Vegas mosconi cup on espn3. So you may be correct.

Geeze! Pool rates so low that they don't even have a category for it on espn3. Curling and cheerleading at least has its own category.

With the respect that pool gets it's no wonder why pool players don't admit they play pool to people they meet outside of the pool world.

Joey A, I like to do little social experiments with pool. And I know this is off topic (and the subject of a future thread I'm planning) but at work, I usually take in a bunch of sighs and so-what's when I talk about pool to my co-workers.

So as a small social experiment I started a conversation on how I beat the ghost in 8-ball on a 9-foot table in a race to 3, and it took three years of efforts and practice to get to that point. A bunch of blank stares and some ridicule that I was wasting my time on a pool table (to put it kindly).

Then, last weekend, I purchased a Rubik's cube and using on line tutorials, I was able to solve the cube in 4 min 16 seconds after three days, then on day 7, I solved the cube in 2 minutes 10 seconds. So today after work, I started a conversion about the Rubik's cube, and demonstrated a 2.5 minute solve (not that impressive when the world record is less than 5 seconds). The co-worker reaction was complete opposite of the pool conversation. I was met with nods of approval and compliments on the intellect and skill it takes to complete the puzzle. But it only took me seven days of 30 minute practice sessions.

More and more, I'm understanding the sheer disconnect the public/media has with the sport, and how powerful the social stigma attached to pool is.

Check ESPN3 at 2:00 est OTL Extra

Teacherman just announced on his weekly stream that ESPN3 will stream the MC.

Checked the listings and they have OTL Extra every day at 2:00 est, which is 11:00am pst and the same time Party Poker lists the daily starting time.

I hope I'm understanding this correctly but I'm old...and I might just be confused.

Damn, I'll be at work every day anyway

It shows up on the Sky Sports TV Guide as being on
Sky Sports 2.

I'm able to view Sky Sports 2 here

I really like that social experiment. It just goes to show you how little people outside of our microcosm know about pool or care about it. No wonder sponsors avoid us like the plague.
