I did some searching but came up dry. Does anyone know where to find the Mosconi Cup win/loss records of the guys we are voting on?

Thanks,

Matt

I have looked, and looked to no avail.....

You coming out for it?? You should.

When and where is the event this year?

//I know, stupid question and I should not be so lazy. Tough day at work right now.

MGM Grand...Las Vegas
Dec. 10-13th

With dinner on the 9th..........

BOTH great events! Nothing like either one of them.

DCC is 24 hrs for 9 days. 50 or more matches going at 1 time...

Mosconi Cup is 4-5 hrs a day 4 days. Single match at a time.

Tough decision.....

My 2 personal favorites of all tornaments.

Matt,
I'm going to copy and paste from the matchroompool.com site. Here they pretty much give you the info you're asking about. Wikipedia will give you the names and how many years they played, but this site actually gave "some" scores, doesn't look like it gave all of them, but it's the best I could do for you. Hope this helps!

The Players
Shawn Putnam (ranked #7) - represented America in the 2005 Mosconi Cup in Vegas where he garnered a two wins from five match record. 'Big Bubba' will be itching for a return to Mosconi action.
Charlie Williams (ranked #8) - a veteran of five Mosconi Cups, Williams has been on the victorious side four times including downing the winning 9 ball in Holland in 2004. Plenty of experience of the white heat of Mosconi Cup battle.
Charlie Bryant (ranked #9) - the big-breaking Bryant has been a fringe Mosconi Cup contender for a few years now. Patriotic to the core, 'Hillbilly' would certainly make his presence felt in Vegas.
Stevie Moore (ranked #10) - well thought of, Moore has been knocking on the door of Mosconi Cup selection in recent years. Could 2009 be the year he breaks through?
Rodney Morris (ranked #11) - the fourth highest American points scorer in Mosconi Cup history, Morris has won 19 of 30 matches in his six appearances for Team USA. A team player, the Rocket has been a valuable asset to the USA in previous Mosconi Cups.
Kim Davenport (ranked #13) - first played in the event in 1997 and went on to make two further appearances. Davenport's eight wins from 14 game record helped his side win on those three occasions. A former Mosconi Cup skipper, Kim is the eldest and most experienced of the contenders.
Dennis Hatch (ranked #14) - the aggressive Hatch could be just what the USA needs when battle commences. Renowned as a 9 ball player, Hatch has operated under the Mosconi cup radar until now.
John Schmidt (ranked #15) - 'Mr 400' made his one and only Mosconi appearance in the drawn match in Rotterdam in 2006 where he recorded a single victory. The 2006 US Open Champ will be looking for the chance to make amends.

if anything i would look at the career of all 8 instead of how they did in a couple of races to 5.

John,
Matt asked for the info, I was just providing it. No harm no foul. I'm pretty sure all 8 of you have stellar records. We'll be proud of and stand behind whoever gets the spot. Good Luck!

Great point John. But it's tough finding an accurate summary of the careers. Heck, Johnny Archer's Wikipedia page is @ 3 years behind! From there:

"He has also been a regular on the successful US Mosconi Cup team, having joined them eleven times, winning on nine of those occasions. "

Johnny will attend his 14th Cup next month. Grrrr.

Thanks for the post paste Heather, that was a good article AZ put up.

for me personally I think that Rodney and Schmidt are tied and Charlie Williams is 3rd because of his clutch mosconi cup experiences.

Hard to argue with Davenport as well considering his good showing at the open this year.

I think that Rodney is the clear choice.. given his Cup experience and his winning record in the series and recently.

I got this in an email from Dragon P. Please dont curcify me for publishing this LOL

Now is your chance to help affect history by voting Charlie "The Dragon" Williams into the 2009 Mosconi Cup !
Its USA vs Europe in its 15th annual event

goto: http://www.matchroompool.com/page/Home and click onto Mosconi Idol banner or try http://www.matchroompool.com/page/MosconiVote/0,,12660,00.html

USA has not won the Cup since 2005, the last time Williams was on the team, and lost badly the last 2 years. Coincidence? LOL probably but Williams has established himself as a winning team player .

Highlights of Williams Mosconi Cup Career:
-USA has won 4 out of 5 times with CW on the team, including 3 in a row streak from 2003-2005
-WIlliams is in the top 5 most winningest player for Team USA
-Williams was first and only rookie player ever to go undefeated in rookie year in the 12-1 demolishing of Europe in 2001
-Williams was only player with winning record in the 2002 loss to Europe
-Williams made the winning 9-ball against Steve Davis of UK in 2004 to clinch victory for USA
-Williams has been described by his teammates as "a player who even when is not playing contributes to the team with encouragement, cheers, advice, and cares more about their game than his own"

There will be no crucifying. All opinions welcomed and encouraged. Actually, Charlie's record was the only one that was incomplete on the matchroompool.com site. Thanks for your addition. My vote has already been cast, (I'm sure anyone who has followed my posts knows who for) but you are welcome to try and sway other people's votes.
