I will ask you. Who is he superior to on that list?

Is he better then Ralph?
Is he better then Darren?
Is he better then Thorsten?
Is he better then Mika?

Would you bet on him beating any one of those players in a long session?

Plus, I agree, it might very well be Chris that is the 5th player on the best team Europe can field, which means Nicky Van d Berg is team Europes consolation pick for this year since Mika and Thorsten did not play the full European tour.

A guy who should not even be on Team Europe might want to bite his tounge on this type of stuff.

I'd rather have Chris in the team than the bottom 2 but that's my opinion. Mika has had a bad year, Thorsten is Thorsten, Chris has more talent than anyone playing in the Mosconi cup, just keep watching this space over the next few years, you will soon see. But hey what do i know :)

More talent then Ralph Souquet? More talent then SVB? Heck, if you want to talk pure "talent", more then Rodney? That is a pretty tall claim...
 
Celtic its a bit of friendly banter from me, nothing too serious. So hope you don't take it that way. Rodney has the most natural talent for the Americans followed closely by Shane. Chris has for the Europeans, and he is defo not to be underestimated, same as Mike shouldn't be for you guys. But it's how the new guys handle it, nothing like a mosconi cup
 
This is shaping up to be a great cup. Im kind of glad Nick opened up his mouth because this might be the extra little push for motivation that USA needs.

i did a little research as you said mika and thorsten didnt play european tour so i just done the rankings from 6 world ranking events only which were added to mosconi cup points and i excluded the euro tour points .

pretty interesting really

6 world events which were part of mosconi cup rankings were

world 9ball,world 8ball,world 10ball,china open,us open,beijing open..

based on mosconi cup pts the top 15 were

1.darren appleton 70pts
2.chris melling 60pts
3.neils fiejen 51 pts
4.huidjee see 50pts
5.nick vden berg 40 pts only played 4 events
6.daryl peach 34 pts
7.mark gray 31pts
8.david alcaide 30pts
9.ralf souquet 25pts
10.mika immonen 20pts
- engert 20pts
- drago 20pts
13.s cohen 18pts
14.t hohman 15pts
15.karl boyes 10pts
otrmann 10pts

so from 6 world ranking events that we all played .. that was towards the mosconi cup points thats how it would have stood if no european tour events included...

only big change with european events added was ralf replacing h see...ralf obviously done great in euro tour events..

but chris melling this year definatly been a top 4 player in europe..

he finished no 1 mosconi cup rankings
euro tour rankings no 2
world rankings no 6
