OK, the sun is rising on Mosconi Day 4 and it is all on the line today.

Team Europe enters the day with a 9-5 advantage in the race to eleven matches. Team USA will need to win five of the first six matches to reach Match 21, the tiebreaker captain's pick singles match.

In this thread, we'll track the events of the day at the Mosconi as they unfold. The first match will be Shane vs Darren. In their Monday match, Darren prevailed. Shane needs to deliver here or Europe will pull to within one win of winning the Mosconi Cup.

Here's a review of the play to this point for Team USA, which I'll update during the play today.

Hoping US wins at least 2 games today! Have always been a Europe supporter, mainly due to my long interest in UK snooker, but really wanting to see US put up a fight.

It is a US game, and one that us non-US people have embraced. Europe has developed some great players, but the game is so much better for all while US players are to be feared as much as any in the world.

Good luck to everyone and hope we see some great pool today :-)

Tricky 3 to get on well for Appleton but he gets on it like he had BIH. Runs one of the easiest racks we've seen all week. 1-0 Darren.

Appleton breaks them well and runs out for a 1-0 lead against Shane. Stess free first rack for Team Europe.

Frame 2.
Shane make 1 in center and wing ball and easy shot on the 2 and open layout. 4 ball may be tricky with 5 up the baulk end and 4 on rail. Bad position onto the 3 from the easy 2 ball pot. Makes a nice shot on the 3, with the help of sliding corner pocket. Big cut on the 5 made, and he's out. Nice job!

Shane's turn now, and he breaks them well and has a good shot to get started. Makes a position erro onto the three but recovers well. he four ball is the key, and he hits it well to set up a match-tying runout.

Despite Jerry Forsyth's exclamation that "we're tied at two" the score is Shane 1 Darren 1

You can tell even Shane is still struggling to adjust to the table. Ran into a ball trying to go around it, left himself short on a draw shot and left a tough cut. It is not so easy, even for the best.

Darren makes a ball off the break but forced into a safety, which he plays well but leaves a long thin cut on the 1 which Shane makes.

The big news is that Jerry calls the safe. Gotta love Jerry, sounds like a guy that anyone would like, but good calls have been rare.. lol

Or how about the commentators saying that Darren would be breaking game 4? This is the worst commentary I have ever heard in pool. It's like they don't even ****ing care.
