The Euro books i just checked all have the U.S. at basically 3/1 underdogs. What does everyone think here?? Who 'ya like for your $$?

If you believe in statistics and such, taking Europe and giving up only 3:1 on the money is stealing. 10:1 is a better reflection of the chances on paper. But the bookies are not interested in paper; they are interested in splitting the action evenly. On the other hand, when Team USA won in 2018 in London (after the long dry spell), they were similar theoretical underdogs.

Short races help underdogs. Add in the luck portion of 9-ball and it seems like anything could happen.

I agree on the short sets. Not so much on the luck. It is a factor but at this level of play not so much. Who wins the safety battles will win it.

Idk about -300, I’d guess that’s a good opening line. We are big dogs-keeping it real, not a knock, just a fact.

I think the line for number of points team USA scores is 6

I sure hope we win or at least make a strong showing. JJ has his hands full, but he’s super strong at being a captain. He did great in bonus ball.

Of course having Earl there sure adds a layer of “interesting” to this years Mcup. And of course I sure hope Earl is the best version of Earl there is. I know first hand-he’s ready.

Buckle up and enjoy,

Pretty damn close. Most of the books i looked at had the U.S. getting to 6 or 7.

Gun to my head 6.5 was my number. But since I’m not betting or booking it & being I didn’t want to put a ½ line out for talking about,

I rounded down to 6.

7’s too much.

If we don’t 6.5 we might(5 or less)not 6. It could get that bad (I hope it doesn’t) point is I think they just cover 6.5 they or they get blown out bad. 😕

While I agree with everything you say. And I really do. Also add in alt break. Sounds like any set can be anyones set. And that’s correct.

But

This is Mcup and that factor alone changes your correct pool betting knowledge. From being very correct and solid to being “this is where normal reasons don’t apply-anything can happen”

Mcup puts the heat on the guys like nothing else in pool, and then funny things happen, to the weaker players. Their Fargo rating or any rating can’t and don’t show the heart the Mcup cream of the crop has. That’s not a number-it’s a result after playing. Like in 2012 when Archer went 6-0.

That’s one thing that’s special about Mcup, it breaks a few principals in pool. Makes it exciting.

While the format speaks to random outcomes because of short races, alt breaks, and the other reasons it’s format favors the weaker player as it equalizes things for players of different skills. It doesn’t always work out that way. The cream rises to the top. And overcomes that format. This is where the REAL players play well. This WILL expose anyones weakness. And it does. That’s the magic of that pressure.

That’s why it’s not equal as the format implies.

Gonna be interesting. I hope USA makes a match out of the whole event. Pool needs that! The fans do! Earl does💪

Hope you had a good holiday 😀🦃

There's zero action on this years MC in the action room. That about sums it up. No one wants to bet on USA. The only thing I would bet on is that Earl will self destruct at some point in the proceedings. He can't help himself.

No matter how many times people say this about alternate break it will never make it true. Alternate break does not ever change how often you will win against somebody. What it does do is change the average amount of games you will win/lose by (how close the scores look on paper) which in turn understandably makes people incorrectly assume it must also be changing how often you win/lose as well. It doesn't.

tough to disagree with you, tho I admit I'm rooting against the bet ^_^
really I'm just wanting earl's top gear to shine through..would be great for him, and the game
kind of how I feel about the usa as a whole..they're underdogs, but maybe they can band together and snap it
should be a fun watch, in any case..go pool!!

Do you happen to know if DAZN allows you watch matches after they've concluded? I may not be able to watch live
Per several people, it looks like they replay it, at least for a bit.
