I've heard that. However, when I saw him, he was an absolute gentleman. Wish I had gotten his autograph...

Same here on several counts.

First off *no one* (and I have seen most of the current 14.1 practitioners) took the balls off the table with as much elegance, precision, and speed as Mosconi. He made it look sooooo simple you'd swear anyone -- including yourself -- could run 100. Second off, in the four or five times I saw him in the 70's he was always a class act -- very professional and polite. Last off, I did ask for the autograph -- the only one I have ever asked for :-)

You've obviously never seen me sweep the balls off the table after scratching on the break.
