Well I have to express my gratitude for the colorful and often detailed coverage (w/ pics) we receive from JAM. I just wonder why she is not writing for one of the Billiard magazines. Thank you for all your post.
Shucks, SSach! Thanks so very much for the compliment.
I'm truly enjoy reading and writing about pool. It is kind of cool to be able to read about all the happenings around the world on AzBilliards Discussion Forum, many places I'm unable to attend. I look forward to hearing all the nitty gritty details.
I believe we're in a new era in pool. Years ago, it was all about going on the road and getting in action, hoping to make enough scores to keep going. Today, though, it is quite a different pool world. I'm not sure where it's going, but I'm hopeful it's going to get better for aspiring pool players.
More people in America play pool than any other game. Yet, pool is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to name-brand recognition; pro pool players, a rare breed, indeed. Those who ride the tide and stay the course are to be commended in today's economically difficult times.
I kind of like being a free-bird independent which gives me the ability to tell it like I see it. I sometimes feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet some of the greats in our pool society, and not all of them are tin cup champions. There are numerous characters, past and present, which are very much are part of the fabric of pool as we know it today.
Though there are quite a few stop signs and stumbling blocks for professional players, I remain optimistic that we are embarking on a new horizon. I just hope I'm around long enough to be a part of it and to see it happen.
