so what is the most expensive cue ever made ?

i am not referring to current value .. say 100k for a rare cue today... but right off the bat from the cuemaker ...

anyone have any idea and pics ?

i would presume it would be a full ivory or maybe a gem studded cue ..

I think that the "Celtic Prince" made by Thomas Wayne was valued at $100,000 right off the lathe.

Samsara had these at Valley Forge this year

This is a unbelievable display to cues.

I have no idea what the value or expected value of this chess set is or will be in the future.

Ginacue

I'm pretty sure Ernie of Ginacue was trying to sell his ivory masterpiece for a few thousand dollars back in the sixties. FORTY YEARS AGO!

lambros

mike lambros made a cue that was in billiard digest that he made a couple of year's ago that i saw at vf! he said it was over 100k for the cue and the gentleman he made the cue for was getting another monster done by mike!! it was all ivory with exotic coral and platinum or white gold inlay's that were dragon's i believe!!! mike did a amazing job on it!!!

I believe Lambros' Dragon cue sold for over a hundred k too.

I think that sword thing by McDermott was selling for $150,000. So far that's the most expensive one I know about.
MULLY
wouldn't give a dime for it

Thomas Wayne sold his celtic prince for a 103,000 several years ago... ( Guess i should have read every post )

Gus' Unfinished Cue

Right off the Bat from the cuemaker??
When Barry sold his Dad's unfinished cue
(That was being made for Richard Akimoto, Former owner of Hawaiian Brian's Billiards, who, By the way, never got it)
Barry sold it to ??? (Can't say, not my place to disclose the new owner)

Hi MH,
Hope you got the Caps..
Guys, For all it's worth,
That Golden Buska was never Authenticated.
Bill Schick told me they don't want him to see it..
He's one of the only guys would have credibility to Authenticate these types of cues.
As far as he was concerned, George never made a solid handle rosewood cue. If I remember correctly.. So, don't quote me on that one.

I know where the cue went and I know it sold for well into the six figure range. But I'm not sure that counts.

I mean, that's not really a finished cue and the price was based on its provenance. If it was the same cue built by Barry and unfinished, it could fetch over a grand... but only because its Barry.

Point is, that price was based on name recognition and the hisotry behind it.

That Lambros cue was pricey but remarkably unattractive.
I think cornerstone flushed some money down the toilet when he had Richard Black build him a solid ivory cue that cracked a few days after delivery.
And of course, there's the Celtic Prince cue.

I know who it went to and have heard stories about the price. But I'm not sure that it counts either way.

That cue got its price because of its provenance. The history, the rarity, and the name attached dictated that price tag.

I think kam is talking about straight-from-the-maker prices.

In that case, I'd have to say it'd be the Richard Black, the Wayne, or the Lambros.

golden bushka

i talked to pete about that bushka and i believe he said it was real!!! and worth a ton!!
