Most you would spend on a shaft?

200. Maybe a touch more if I wanted an ivory ferrule. Now if I could get one with the old Schon Micarta, maybe 250.

What is the most you would pay for a shaft that matched your cue and ring work?

Probably $150-$200 for an original Scruggs shafts to match my old Scruggs that I no longer have a shafts for cause I snapped it up good. If this question is in regards to Predator or OB or whatever LD shafts of choice the answer would be $0. Don't like LD's.

Shaft only, not a cue. I figure if you buy a $5k cue the shafts must be worth 20% of the purchase price.

$250. Anymore than that and it's starting to get a bit difficult to justify. Most after market shafts will cost that and most cue makers will charge you at least $150-$200. So realistically anywhere from $150-$250 for me.

Personally I would pay $1000 if not more for a pair of Searing Shafts that match my favorite cue butt. Next best thing to having a Searing IMHO. Yes I do have one, best money I've ever spent on anything pool related.

I bought a Black Boar shaft for $400 for my Scruggs once. I used it 3 times & it will soon be for sale. I'd never pay more than $200 again

I paid about $450 for a ferruleless BB shaft. Not all that impressed TBH. And to think he charges $800 for these lol!!

I would happily pay $500 per shaft and JP to get some more to match up with my Mobley playing cue.

Nit............

How much more?

.

Well, my Joss cost $35.00....

And the most I spent on a cue until recently was $200....then I went and bought a custom that caught my eye.

But to be realistic I have spent a little on shafts here and there. I have 2 Scruggs shafts with ivory ferrules that cost me about $50 each (local find). The 2 matching 31 inch shafts for my 1980 Huebler cost about $125 each (Ebay find). I got a pair of original shafts for my Valentine present cue, a 1990 Steve Mizerak Professional Series SM-7, for $90 each, refinished with new ferrules and tips.

New? Hard to think of any new shafts I have bought. I do remember one. I have an NOS Meucci Originals shaft. Yes brand new, got it about ten years ago. I got it for $90.

So these are example of how much I have spent. How much would I spend? Depends on what it is and how bad I want it. Maybe $250-$300? I am thinking that is really the highest.

If this is about that Predator graphite shaft, I have a graphite shaft right here on my desk, right now. Pretty cool. Shoots pretty nice too. Feels like wood and does not get sticky. Why? Well, because it's graphite, silly. It does not have the big name. I am pretty sure there were none at the SBE.
