mother drills?

Correct Me If I'm Wrong

I could be wrong about the origin?

I believe these are the drills that Randyg uses at his pool school academy.

They are drills of varying types and degrees of difficulty.

I heard they are coined "The Mother Drills" because you'll be saying "Mother****er after several hours.

If anyone posted them, it's cuz they got a copy somehow and scanned them. I have them, but it wouldn't be fair to Randyg.

Go to his school and you get them as a part of the course

Or because using them properly will give birth to a better pool game.

And you are correct. Randyg developed them, and many SPF instructors like myself and Scott Lee make sure all of our students get them, along with some pretty detailed instruction as to how to best use them for maximum improvement.

Are the mother drills detailed out in the DVD's?
Some of the Mother drills are in books, some are on DVD's if you get the right ones

PERFECT! Thanks Steve....randyg

I have a copy of them also ... But they would be useless to anyone without the information that goes with them... How to use them ... And what they are for ... And knowing what your doing wrong to start with ...

The King has it correct here. Without the lesson, just seeing diagrams of the mother drills would be meaningless. They are not difficult (they're not supposed to be); they don't teach you anything specific (except how they pertain to YOU); but you can learn an enormous amount of information from them, provided you know how to use them.

I don't know what the Mother Drills are but to add to the quote above Bert Kinisters 60 Minute work out and Bob Hennings Pro Book and DVD set covers shots that will really help your game. Between the 2 I would suggest Bob Henning. His DVD is clearer and the books supplement the shots with diagrams that can be used to set up for practice.

As the other posters suggested the shots don't mean anything without knowing how to execute them. I had a hard time performing the shots until I took the lessons from a BCA trained instructor. Well worth the money.

TheBook...It may be well worth your while to pursue additional training from a BCA/SPF instructor, who can show you how the mother drills are applicable to creating the "perfect stroke process" for YOU. The drills are easy to perform, take very little time, and are specific to making corrections for the flaws in your process. They go hand-in-hand with the video review of your setup and delivery process (something not even all instructors...even BCA Certified... do...but should). If an instructor is not using video review, as a strong part of their program, I personally would not even consider them for lessons...but that's just my opinion! One additional benefit of the way I teach, for example, is to provide my student with a fully recorded copy of their lesson, on dvd, so that they can review it, at will, in perpetuity.

The DVDs are great, but holy cow, I thought the camera added only 10 pounds! It looks like it added another person to me:eek: .

I would suggest finding out when Scott or Randy are close enough to you and try atleast a 4 hour session. Scott has alot to offer. I never worked with Randy, but know he is highly respected in the community (sorry guys I can't spell)...

I would have to concur with the training with Scott. Although nothing replacing constant practice..the training I got from Scott Lee was really really good. I still play the video back...now if i were to play the me that scott videoed today. I could probally give myself the seven ball. hahah. I have really put in some time, but I know there is still a hitch in my stroke that i cant figure out yet. My arm position is not right. I too practice with the Bert Kinister 60 minute work out...I swear by it. However the SPF that Scott showed me made my practice with the 60 minute workout that much better. You wont regret taking the class.. I know i didnt
