MOTTEY *Ebony*Amboyna Burl*Ivory

Thanks gentlemen for the latest round of kind words.

Fire away on that email Don, I've got some cash left
but it's burning a hole in my pocket...lol

I meant to comment on this thread the other day, this cue is the nuts..

When I saw it on eBay I knew somebody was going to get an awesome cue at a decent price.. Glad you were able to get it..

If you ever decide to let the other one go, I can find it a good home ;)

Thanks guys, glad you like it.

Chris, I'm keeping both of the burl Mottey's, but I have a mint Mottey
that has a lot of work in it that I haven't posted. Send me your email
if you have interest or if you'd just like to see pictures.

Jerry..........there should be a spotlight at the pool hall the next time you visit........someone needs to shine it on your cue case
as you remove the cue to get ready to play.......there should be the music that accompanies the assembly of the cue....from
the movie "2001"......da dum.........the last standing ape in the opening scene of that movie.......well, the ape holds upon this
very cue instead of a big femur bone.........it's that type of cue....BIGTIME.....TOP SHELF POOL CUE!

My favorite Mottey ,hell of a pick up

Thanks. You want to talk about a hell of a pick up? That Searing of yours
is the nutz. Congrats to you, too.

And Matt, that was a funny post buddy. I won't really be taking this one out
of the house(case queen). I pull a South West or a Searing conversion
out of my cases at the poolrooms. They don't draw all the attention most
of the time, because a lot of people don't know what they are. The same
people might not know what this one is either, but it would draw attention.
No theme music for me please...lol Thanks

Congratulations Jerry on your new pickup. Does this Mottey have a piloted ivory joint? If so, how is the hit? My understanding is the hit of that combo is legendary. What would you compare it to? Congrats again on a great cue.

Thanks. The joint is piloted ivory and the cue plays super. Some say Paul is legendary for his ivory joint.
Matter of opinion I suppose, but there's no debating that his ivory joint cues are superb players. Great hit,
sound, feedback, feel, etc. I've got no complaints, that's for sure. I don't really have any comparisons, but I had
a Kun Fang Lee Bill McDaniel cue around 03 to 05 with a piloted ivory joint. That cue hit 2 tons and may
have been a little too stout, wish I still had that monster though. The Mottey is not quite as stout, but is rock
solid.

Hope this answered your questions and thank you and everyone else for the kind words, Jerry

Again, not a fan of ebony but, wow, that is beautiful. I need to rethink why I didn't like ebony. The burl is awesome and looks fantastic with the ebony.

Beautiful Mottey! I don’t recall seeing an ugly one. But this cue is among his best.

I remember one of Kun Fang Lee’s McDaniel cues from when he was playing with it. Assuming it was the same cue, my compliments to your taste in cues. You have had some real winners.

That's what I DON'T like about it...

Like what Chris said, my favorite mottey to date. Especially love how the amboyna stretches all the way to the butt cap not to mention that's a tight piece of burl.

Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous cue. I just don't like the lack of contrast in the butt. A black phenolic butt cap would have rounded it out nicely IMO.
