Mottey on eBay - Scam?!

I knew this was likely a scam! I saw the listing from France again, and thought it was a bit fishy. Cuedoctor, if you can verify the cue's location now, I will email all bidders and file a fraud report with eBay.

I just bid 10,000.00 on it so no one will get burnt!! thanks for watching out . but for future ref I will probly be trading it to simon the diamond ! were working on it now

Because we can't ebay to respond within 24 hrs. I have made contact, but to no avail, that is why I contacted cornerstone when I figured out who owned it. This very similar to the Scruggs cue that was listed as a 1 day yesterday. Started out as a no reserve, then suddenly had a 2000.00 BIN, then it was pulled by the seller, (again from France, hi-jacked account no doubt), as no longer available for sale. Just beware of highend cues with no reserve on a 1 day auction. Seriously, if you were selling a highend cue, wouldn't you want to keep on auction for as long as possible in order to garner the highest bid possible? Not very likely with a 1 day auction. If it looks too good to be true, it generally is.

Yep...I saw his bid earlier and sent him an email advising that I thought this was a scam...at least I thought it was the same 'the diamond' :)

I'm gonna start scanning eBay every morning from here on out. I knew something was funky with this one and the Scruggs yesterday because all the feedback was in french, but the listings are fluent english...go figure!

Lisa,
Your scanning is turning me on. . . . . . unless you're really a 56 year-old perv who is looking to catch a cue collector . . . . oh, nevermind.....

j/k keep up the good work! :D

Seriously, we have to look out for each other other.

this is a real problem

I am currently concerned about an auction I won.
Sent cashiers check and they are not responding
to my emails yet. I may be over-reacting but I'm
nervous.

Use ebay's "Request Contact Info"

You can request their contact info from ebay, including their phone number - PM me if you have problems doing this. Many times it's just a delay because of broken computer, illness, unexpected travel, etc.

I have gotten to where I completely shy away from any auctions that require payment via M/O or Cashiers Check. There is no real protection. I would rather use my card and pay the PayPal 3% upcharge and be protected. Most cards, including debit cards, if drawn on VISA or MasterCard, have payment protection.
