I'd like to see these if they are being made as well.

John video taped his run of 245 and narrated the cd. I actually have it on right now. As John even says on the tape, its just a video camera in a garage while he's practicing, but he explains things quite well.

I bought my copy directly from John when he was selling them here, but you can get it at Seyberts as well. I am not sure if John is still selling them here or not.

I don't know if this is something that interests you, but I think John does a great job with this. Maybe some others will chime in about it.

I'd like to see the run of 403 too. I bet that was something to watch.

Good luck,
Craig

DVD's

I haven't heard of the 403 run being taped. I think it was a spur of the moment thing playing with his new OB-1. No idea how in-depth his classes are going to be but his 245 tape commentary explains what he meant to do, how he sometimes got out of line, and shows and explains how he recovered.

I sometimes describe the 245 tape as the best training tape I own. It puts the viewer inside the mind of a champion. It is interesting to note that he misses the exact shape he wanted over and over. He usually misses by only a few inches but occasionally he blows shape and has to regroup.

What I find interesting is that although his physical skills are better than most, they aren't in a totally different category. It is his mind, knowledge of the game, and heart that make him a champion.

That would be an AWESOME seminar! WOW - a seminar explaining why he is shooting certain shots! I would buy a tape of that also... his other one was very informative.

Someone, please let us know if this is being taped.... or, put a bug in John's ear we would be interested in something like this being for sale also.

Keep watch on here on AZ.

I think John will be sharing more knowledge in DVD form in the not so distant future.

I was at the seminar and it was not video'd. I offered to video it but John preferred that it not be done or it would wind up on youtube.

He plans to work on an instructional video, and may also tape another high run.

The seminar was 4 hours; one hour on Monday, one hour on Tuesday and two hours on Wednesday, and was very good. He went over opening break, break shots, pattern play, identifying your triangle (last 3) and your problem spots early and taking care of them, and also staying on the right side of the line. He also says a little nine ball will improve your 14.1. When you need to come with a shot or warp a break shot in there, you will be more comfortable. Loosen your grip, focus, and throw the cue.The proof is in the pudding, though and I need to work on it and see how it goes.

He is a very energetic and personable instructor and if you ever get the chance, don't think twice.

Dennis, thanks for sharing. Great you had an opportunity. Great John came out with such an offer. I still hope I have my chance in nearest future (arghh, I still regret he didn't go to play at the WPC last year).

He DEFINITELY should make one, he is one of the greatest cueists with 14.1 knowledge. 2 runs 400+, multiple runs over 200, over 70(!!!) in 1p ghost... Tells itself. I think such video will be of great demand.

Hi,

Can you give a little more about the "identifying your triangle (last 3)"?

The last three of the rack which includes your break ball should be triangle shaped (Don't ask me why. Easier to go from one to the other??) One such would be 1)side of the rack break ball as one point on the triangle, ball near the side pocket on the same side as the break ball as the second point on the triangle and ball near the opposite side rail a little down from the side pocket as the third point.

So you'd get on the rail, pop it in, side pocket and break shot. Minimal movement at the critical end of the rack. Identify and save these balls early if possible. Don't shoot them off willy nilly in early part of rack.

Last 5 or 6 balls, shape less forgiving usually. Don't have time or room to make up for mistakes.
