last nite i watched a splendid louisiana pool stream from big truck (with savvy commentary from joey a and others).
the final was between guys named scotty and max, i think those are the names.
i didn't know either one so i decided to root for max. he was dressed casually and comfortably, but rather sharply! and that scotty -- well he looked like the kind of guy your mom warns you about dating! sleeveless top, grungy from there down, a regular mr. scruff!
so max wins, in fact he had to win 7 games twice.
but then the sweetest thing ... scotty goes over and shakes hands with max, pats him on the back, smiles and talks for a couple of minutes. and not the kind of handshake losers usually give, you know, like the winner has cooties!
i was so impressed with scotty's class. of course he wasn't happy that he had lost 14 games and the championship. but you couldn't tell from the gracious way he ended the evening.
i instantly vowed to become a better person, foster world peace, recycle more and make up with my bf when he gets home!
