Mum pool (golf)

Mum pool, as in mums the word, in relation to golf played on a snooker table. How is golf played around the country in regards to players coaching, advising and belittling other players as to their choice of offense, defense, leaving your man? Worst to me is line me up and I will roust him. It would be difficult to imagine no bantering in a golf game but there is so much ranting and raving and arguing it makes me wonder why even play! Total mum golf would not be much fun. In most pool halls it is it's own little club with the same players daily. How do others deal with this?

I have played all over Canada and the US. Almost nowhere plays the same.
1. Single Cue, Matching Cue Ball for each player
2. Types of fouls and penalties
3. Order of play (pocket order)
4. Broken from rack or spotted in order
5. Allowed to go rail first or rail must be made after contact
6. With and Without skittles.

Screaming and complaining is part of the game. From time to time you need to put yourself in the penalty box to cool off.

Mums

We used to gamble at 'mum pool'. First one to say one word (even "nice shot") loses. I guarantee it will up your skill level...very tough to concentrate like that.

Wow, one word and you lose is brutal. I have heard of multiple hickeys for anything pool related during game. Regular conversation allowed.

I've heard of this though I've never played it. I've not heard of it being played in a golf game, however. It was mentioned in "Playing off the Rail" and is a good way to work on your concentration. I've tried to do this as in not thinking consciously when practicing. Tough:D
