any one have a Musashi cue? i've heard it plays well.. i don't see much selling in azb. anyone looking to sell one? and can provide a review on it?

If i'm not mistaken thats line is produced by the adams company, the same that builds adams cues and their Balabuska Line. If your going to spend $1,200 on a cue I'd advise you to get a custom, you could get a beautiful cue made to your specs for that price and it would retain or even increase in value much better than the production, or you could get a used cue in mostly new condition from say either Scruggs, Sugartree possibly, Joss West....its a big list.

Doesn't matter what you play with but if your going to spend good money then you might as well get as much out of your money as you can, maybe break even or possibly profit.

The Musashi line of cues from Adam, is what Adam calls it's custom cue line. I've played with a few, and know a couple of pro players in Japan that endorse them. Custom cue? Well, kinda sorta. Generally Adam cues are production line type cues. The have several well trained craftsmen that run the machines that pump out the same designs over and over again. Then there are their supervisors or master cue makers, and these are the guys that make the Musashi line of cues. I must say however, as with most Japanese products, the attention to detail and higher levels of tolerance makes any Japanese made cue (Adam, Mezz) a well made piece of wood. The problem is, all Japanese products are priced according to the Japanese economy, and will always have a hard time selling anywhere outside of Japan.
Very well made cue, but for the money, you can go with other options that will not only get you a great cue, but a little more name to go with it.

Oh. Thanks... I heard good stuff of this brand. I initially thought it is a custom cue by this person called musashi. Haha!

Test hit on a used acss pro n bs158 shaft.. I must say tt both shafts r very stiff as in both doesnt flex too much like the 314/2 ob hp2 shafts..

Only notice tt the balance of cue is naturally flat as in not forward pointed down..i tried top right n left english with half table distance.. ÇB spin is alot with medium power apploed..

I m waiting for my cue to arrive b4 i make anymore comments..

I have never had the pleasure. Adam has always made good cues though, and I have heard good things about the Musashi line.

I don't know if they are worth the price, but certainly there are bargains to be had on the secondary market. I suppose if one wants one some searching and time would turn one up at a more reasonable price. They are occasionally seen on Ebay but the prices are stiff even there.

I do have a few old Adam cues (70's-80's) and they are great shooters, even with somewhat older style dimensions. Definitely well made.

Musashi Cues are Huge in China. And they are not cheap at all, like a few earlier post mentioned they can cost anywhere from $1200-$3000 here in China. To many who don't really understand or knows custom cues, this is THE best cue that they know of and have direct access to.

One of the main reason is because many start out with MEZZ and slowly move their way up as they upgrade. However the ultimate goal for many is still Southwest here...that's probably the most common custom cue that they know of. Throw names like Hercek, Showman, Searing or Mobley around in a regular pool hall chances are you're gonna get a blank face. But say Southwest or Musashi, the woos and ahhs come about.

I've played with several Musashis and have come really closed to owning a couple of used ones. They are definitely very well produced and the attention to details is immaculate. In terms of hit it really depends what shaft you have on, they've like 4-6 different shafts including a regular solid maple shaft but it isn't the standard shaft. I've hit with 3 or 4 different shafts now and they all play different. However besides being consistently well built i'd say they're also consistently stiff across the board no matter what shaft i put on.
Not my personal favourite for use in regular pool but for playing chinese pool (miniaturised snooker) i think they're fab. That's also why Musashi Cues are more popular in the northern region of China as opposed to the south are Chinese pool is more popular up north.
