I'm told ( and it's advertised) that this is the 28th MCO.
But I have an official program for the event from 1983 that says " 2nd annual".
Which implies that it was started in 1982.
Which is further back than 28 years....

Was the event not held on certain years?
If so, which years?

Thanks in advance for your answers:cool:

It is possible that the event was not held on some years because according to my calculations, the event should have started in 1988...

Does this program give the location of the event? There were a couple of tournaments in Nashville about that time that weren't held at JOB's. They were at a convention center.

Gameland billiards if I'm not mistaken.
I think, but am not sure, that this was before jobs existed.
Certainly could be wrong.

The first Music City Open was held October 1982 at the Maxwell House Hotel in downtown Nashville. I still have the program. It was a big table major tournament with all the top pros. First place was $10,000 with Mike Sigel beating Allen Hopkins 10-2 in the finals. I also attended a Camel Tour Event at a convention center in Nashville in the 90s.
