Music for the "zone"

If I have my iPod with me I put on some Joe Satriani - satch boogie, surfing with the alien or summer song. I am probably the biggest metalhead you will know(7600 metal songs on a 60gb iPod) but if it is too fast or heavy my game gets a little off. Steve vai or Yngwie Malmsteen are other good choices. Other people like it because there's no words and they don't get tortured with my singing...LOL

You and I would get along well!! I love Satch, Vai, Petrucci, Gilbert, Friedman etc. I have about 7,000 songs on my iPod. I agree that listening to Lamb of God or Killswitch Engage would throw my game off. Some good Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, or Exodus is just perfect for me.

If it were me though, I'd want Metallica's Welcome Home Sanitarium. One of the best songs ever written.

For me music for the zone is not so much what I want I playing but what I DON'T want playing. Music will not get me in the zone but it sure take me out! If I had to choose in would have to be almost anything classic rockish.

Zone:confused: ??? Zone:confused: ??? What zone? I don't think I've been there yet. Close, but no cigar:D . But...if I want to hear something in the background, AC/DC, Skynyrd, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, and Blackfoot come to mind. I really am a blues fan, but not many jukeboxes have much of a selection of blues music.

To Me, I Guess It Would Not Matter. At The End Of The Match I Would Not Have Been Able To Tell You What Song Was On Anyway. Probaly Wouldnt Even No The Radio Was Even On.

Thorazine Shuffle by Gov't Mule. "....Just stand back and watch me now...till the damage is done..."

Warren Haynes is amazing.

My mp3 player is packed with everything from blues to metal (hate rap/hip-hop).

Linkin Park or Stained gets me motivated pretty well. But anything that reminds me of my ex (I freewheel when angry) like Three Days Grace "I hate everything about you" or Guns N' Roses "I used to love her but I had to kill her" may cause me to put a quick 6 pack on you.

Then maybe Toby Keith "How do you like me now?" to follow it up.

:D
