Ive seen scrimmed Tads, but way later than this cue.

Depends upon your definition of scrimshaw. If into ivory, then no , I can't say I have seen it by anyone prior. BUT they (scrimmers) consider mother of pearl a suitable scrim material, which was done as name plates for a long time by Brunswick.
