My Biggest and Best Scruggs To Date

Find another

Ask what was paid.
Like I said alot of konow it all. Dean was wanting Ivory handle Cues also after this Cue was complete. Timi and Mike wouldn't build one for any price. Then there are the Box Cues with Ivory inlays that were all over 9K and the golden Scruggs and on and on.
I have an article with this Cue of Davids pictured signed by Timi. Timi said they were coming over and the owner was the only person he could think of that could get a high end Cue over by the time the writer and photographer were to come over.
It is a nice Cue. But not as I said before anywhere near Tim's big Cues. The Ivory Handle Cues were never under 20K. Never. Dean wanted all of them he could get. He wasn't the only one.
When 5K is a big Cue to you 25K is something your mind can't fathom.
Those 3/8-10 pins sure shoot straight. I just can't find anyone that buys them any more. I would keep it. But then again I would have never sold the only wrapless MC Cue either.

But.....

It is rare as finding another is near impossible,But.....

Just because it's 25k and someone paid 25 k doesn't make it big or worth it. There are items in this world not worth the $ but as I was always told an item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I feel as if u wanna show this cue off start a thread for it why put it in Dave's??

There are two huge box cue collectors with out naming them( I'm sure there are 1or2 more but I know 2). They are richer than god, so 25k is like 250.00 to most. When you have millions and millions 25k ain't sh!t, they could have charged 250 k and they would have paid it and not dented their account

But back to this, that handle scruggs is just a collectors cue. It's heavy, it's unstable like all Ivory handled cues, isn't suitable for playing with and has a high probability of cracking over time, it's pointless unless a true wealthy collector(I learned that from a huge builder) it pointless to hit with an ivory handle or all ivory cue i see some builders make.!but it's rare and beautiful too!

Dave's cue is 1 of the biggest, rare, and can be played with. I'd use caution if done but atleast it can be used. It was made for a millionaire collector-passed on to a guy I know- to another guy I know-to Dave who I also know. It's a nice cue isn't about bigger better cost. It's just a rare nice cue that is one of the biggest cues out of that shop. No one here said the biggest we all know who owns those but it is one of the bigger cues. Rare due to its knifed in ivory points that are veneered and it's ivory butt sleeve. A lot of inlays too. Just my thoughts.

I don't know why someone or some people always have to chime in and try to talk trash/have harsh feelings/Act jealous/ act like know it alls/compare etc like just relax squash your issues w people be friendly and enjoy stuff people show off no one here ever made a false claims and there is no reason for bitter feelings. What I've noticed on here with someone is no ones Scruggs or cochrans are worth jack shi! Or are damaged etc they still sometimes try to obtain them and sometimes when they obtain them after a cheap score they are worth 20x that.other times they can't obtain them and they act like the cues junk. It's senseless

8ball rat I don't know u, never met, & although we couldn't get a price on a cue I'm glad you sold it be safe over there but...
Lmfao MIKE TOLD ME THE SAME THING IT'S ALL IM SAYING TOO

I never said 5k was a big cue. Not small, but not big. And yes, you are correct, I wish I had never sold my wrapless MC. Was a great player. Doesn't play as good as this one but a great player all the same. I know I will never get it back now. To some, I guess, their word doesn't mean anything. And if those jerkoffs hadn't sold the cue that Mike was building me to SM, I would have at least had a wrapless blank I could have someone finish for me. But I guess when you have tons of cash, you can get what you want. Even if someone else's name is on the cue. Literally. Then they tried to con me into getting them to make the cue for me. When I asked them if it was the cue mike started for me, they went silent. I knew what happened. But hey, I am over it. I know how the world works. I still like to look at the blank every now and again think about what it was going to look like. I wish Mike had finished that cue. It would have been real sweet.

And the box cues werent 9k. Maybe 6k, but not 9k. I know what Mike told me what he was selling the pink ivory box cue for and it wasnt anywhere near 9k. I know who has it, therefor, I know why you are blowing the price up on it. It nor any other non ivory handled box cue is bigger than this 6 pointer. Neither is my old Cochran for that matter. But I didnt get this cue for being big. I got it cause I fell in love when I saw it.

I just reread your post. It has taken me 15 minutes to stop laughing. You calling some else a know it all. OMG LMFAO. You are the eipitome of the self proclaimed know it all. If I started a thread on here and took a poll as to who AZ'ers thought was the biggest know it all in AZ land, I would venture a nice sized bet that you would take at least 66% of the vote. Probably, more like 90%. Possibly even 100%. You know, I know and everyone else on here knows what you are full of. 2 things. Yourself and you know the other. You are the know it all after all. And Rat, Steve, TonyinMD and Larry. Yes Mike told me the same thing too.

Thanks to all the others for the comments and take care.

I ordered a half dozen cues from Tim and Mike over the past few years, and bought several others on the secondary market that I took to them for clean-up, rewrap, new shaft, etc. They were nothing short of ALL class, and a pleasure to spend time with. I enjoyed the conversation as much as I enjoyed the thrill of the TS cue hunt. None of mine were "big" cues...but they were all special.

While sitting around the shop, shooting the B.S. as they were prone to do, we talked about a lot. A LOT. Some subjects kept coming up over and over again through those years...and some things will never change. You can imagine what one of those repetative topics was...and others on here know EXACTLY what Tim and Mike's opinion was about it.

All that matters is that YOU enjoy the cue, Dave. Doesn't matter who says what about it...it's yours, and yours alone. Revel in it...as it is a phenomenal piece of work.

All I can say is the gentlemen who previously owned this cue did a lot of buying and selling of high end scruggs and others and also spent a lot of time in Timmy's shop and he had never seen any cue that big come out of his shop...Until someone can produce a pic of something bigger this cue is pronounced king in my opinion.

Dave, I didn't congratulate you yet on getting this cue. It is perfect, and as the years go by those of us who had the privilege of spending time with Tim and Mike, when we see a cue like this it will bring back fond memories of happier times.

That cue is "pure class".

Thank Tony. I really love the cue. Plays phenomenal. I am still undecided on whether it is too fancy for me to play with or not. For now though, it will be played with.

So you what to drag me in with your bullshit.

The only reason I even know you is my friend Mike called me and asked me to do him a favor and that was to buy this cue from you to get it out of your hands.Your just an idiot spewing bullshit. This is why I ignore you.but you decided to drag me into your lies.

Enough said.

This is the cue in it's original format. The cue had extra inlays added to both the butt sleeve and to the ends of the points.

The cue is a monster and probably the nicest one to have come from the Scruggs shop.

Kevin

Kevin is right

Jay wanted fancier. Mike liked Jay alot. Nice man. Smart too. This is a very nice Cue and congradulations on owning it. I left out I didn't buy the fancy box Cue but was offered it. I was about 10K short at the time.
This Cue of yours is closer to a 9K Cue but as I said wnen it came to big Timi's big Customs are all locked up and not ment for public veiwing unless the owners wish it so.
Nick :)

Glad to see. Great they could improve over the original design a little. Gorgeous cue, even moreso now.

Lies?????

I dragged noone into lies. What lie did i tell? You bought a cue that was being built for me. Plain and simple. I even told you I would forward the email to you that show mike and me discussing the cue and me picking the wood. You can't even respond. That is one thing I don't do, lie. If I say it, then you can take it to the bank. Look, like I said, I am over the fact that YOU lied to me and told me you were willing to sell me my cue back if I ever wanted it as you could tell I didn't really want to sell it. I can't fault you for keeping the cue. It is a sweet cue. And I said nothing about you personally, just stated that you bought the cue that had my name on it. That is it. which you did. I have no harsh feelings to you. You are a collector and my hats off to your collection. I would love to own just a few of them. But, liar I am not. And speaking of lying, don't even act like Mike wanted you to buy the cue to get it out of my hands. Mike was a good friend to me. Even though we never actually met, we developed a kinship. Just look at the cues he built for me and what he charged me for them.

The stamped cue he had marked as sold on the website as he wasnt going to sell it. Turned everyone down who tried to buy it from him. Then he sells it to me. I gave it to my brother. He turned around and sold it to deanoc so he could buy a gun. Dumbass. I am not getting into that either. Bottom line, my record for not telling lies is intact. How bout you? Or how about you and Nick talking shit about my cue and trying to submarine my deal with Larry for this cue. To take a line from Nick, a little birdie told m about it.
