I have an ob-1 radial and a few other cues I would trade. I will pm you later today.
Thanks for the comment John.
are the rings on the butt and shaft indexed so that meet when assembled.
How bad is the chip in the butt, it's hard to see in these pictures?
refacing the joint only matches the joint, not the ringsit doesn't really matter that the rings don't line up. Just have the joint refaced a little at a time until they do.

i'm not sure what you know about indexing rings, but , in my opinion, if the rings don't line up( the indexing), they need to be removed and adjusted to match. My thoughts are that coming from a reputable seasoned cuemaker, these rings should line up, unless the shafts were remade , by someone other than the original maker without the butt or that these shafts were made my a lesser experienced cuemaker
that's just my opinion
Shotmaker,
I have talked to Richard about this cue and these ARE 100% the original shafts that came with the cue.
Like David said, look at the color of the Phenolic. Look at the color of the Bocote in the rings.
The colors match, therefore, they are original.
Shawn is also correct on refacing. If you take a hair of material off the joint, the final seating of the shaft will be changed because you have to turn it a little more to get it tight. They will eventually line up.
I don't know what it is, but I can swear I hear the old Irish Spring jingle.
Oh wait, that's just John whispering sweet nothings in my ear about the Bluegrass.
