Perhaps some of you recall my recent dealings with Randy Kramer, who goes by Pescadoman on this forum.

We had a misunderstanding concerning the payment for a doweler, but it was just that, and has now been corrected. No worries.

Randy, I apologize for for any bad feelings I expressed and I'm glad it was easily corrected.

Another member here posted a link for a doweler listed on craigslist. It was very cheap...$250, a good price, since they sell new for $6500+. After a little quick research, I decided to buy it. The machine was 400 miles away, but I had other business in the area and the machine would easily fit in my truck. The best part was that the importer was near the same area and they could supply everything the machine might need to get it running. Cool!!

Just days before I was to pick up the machine I ran into some health issues which prevented me from traveling. The machine owner was OK with me delaying pickup, but I decided instead to offer it to Randy, since he was a short distance away, and had expressed disappointment that he had missed out on a great deal, and since I was incapacitated, what the hell...let him have it. There will be others. And I'm always happy to help others if I can.

Randy promptly picked up the machine, had it repaired by the importer, bought a 3 phase converter for it, etc. to the tune of about $2000, and then NEVER PAID ME FOR THE MACHINE, saying he could send me some money when he was working again.

This is really screwed up. He just spent a couple grand to get it running, BUT CANNOT PAY ME THE $275 THAT I HAD SHELLED OUT FOR IT!

Obviously I should have gotten the money up front but Randy seemed trustworthy in the past and I thought it would be OK. So much for that.

How 'bout it Randy? Anything further to add?

Yes Robyn, I have something to add.

For whatever reason, Paypal didn't complete the transaction. I "sent" it immediately following the conclusion of our conversation. When I sent it AGAIN, the 300.00 popped up in the window via cookies.

In your private message, when you asked "are you going to send me some money?:)", I thought you meant more than the little extra I had already sent or that you were kidding(smiley face). I did think it was a bit out of character for you to ask that, but I was going to send you some more for your troubles "when I start working again".

Had you said "I never received the money for the doweler", I would have known something was awry. A phone call in lieu of this could have resolved everything in minutes.

In addition, Paypal didn't show the 500.00 I sent to another gentleman(In fact I had to contact him to make sure it was received).

I empathize with how you feel and apologize for the misunderstanding, but I would never do what you seem to be implying.

I hope you feel better soon and the money shows up today, ending your obvious and understandable frustrations.


Please contact me to confirm you have received it and, if you feel inclined, delete this post(it served its purpose).

Hi Tom, this was just a misunderstanding. We had communicated, and completely misunderstood each other. Just one of those things that happens. We had exchanged PM's and neither had any idea what the other was saying, all over a screwup by Paypal (imagine that!).
I know Randy, and was stunned when there was a problem. There really wasn't.
Just the frailties of the English language.

No war. As soon as I knew he didn't get the money I sent it. Sent 500.00 to Tom Migliore and I had to contact him, making sure he received it(I didn't hear from him....I finally realized he was in New York and suffering from Sandy). I saw no evidence on paypal.

I'm sorry that I didn't know the money wasn't transferred Robyn. You don't need any more aggravation at the moment..
 
My car deal with the doweler went haywire.
Wait, that's another story. :grin-square:

No problem Randy. I didn't even check Paypal for a few days. When I did, I just figured something came up or you forgot. That's why it blew my mind when you said you'd pay me when you were working again! It's funny because you thought you already paid me. I had put the smiley face in the PM so you wouldn't think I was jacking you up about it!

Robin with an I(sorry, I've been remodeling my mother's bathroom to the tune of 14 hours a day and 3500.00.....I hate to think of what it would cost if I paid someone else to do it).....That is where the rest of my money went... I didn't plan on spending that much, but it snowballed and....she's my mom.

Just confirm you receive your money....Paypal says it was sent.

Again, I hope you get better soon....:grin:

Surprisingly, the bathroom is the smallest room in the house, and it cost the most to remodel!

I haven't done my kitchen yet...requires moving a wall into a bedroom, gotta wait until the last kid goes to college next year :dance:
 
Yes, kitchen by far.... I'm $35,000. in and still not done. Hell the granite alone was 5k :frown: Shoulda went into the cabinet business instead of pool cues but hell it's only money :eek:

You might want to wait until that last kid is graduated from college!! Unless, unlike 95% of us, you actually managed to put enough aside for 4-5 full years.

Daughter graduated in Architecture this past Spring and is working for an architectural firm.

Son is in his 3rd year in Mechanical Engineering.

GEEZ, I hope they support me in my retirement years!!! LOL :grin:

I go by the rule my mom had, once you leave, you only get to come back once, for 6 weeks, then you leave again. It stops the revolving door that kids think exists....I keep telling the little one, once you leave, the hot tub comes in and the locks get changed.:wink:

Blue Hag R, I hate to jump in your face man but what in the world has that got to do with a Kitchen or bathroom remodel?:wink:
