my first case completed!

Im interested in one. What is a price with my name on the front of the lid. 2x4. Also one with the lid attached, if it isnt I am almost sure I would lose it in a day! Just a ruff estimate would be fine. Thanks

Nice dude! definately a great start! Does the tube for the butts and shaft go all the way down?

Very nice!!

That is pretty impresive for round #1.Good job!!!Good luck with the rest of them.

Good work on your first case, im looking forward to your future work.

cute girlfriend btw.

Very innovative design, backpack style. It might catch on, especially when carrying a heavier case. It looks like she is very comfortable with the weight. Might be good to offer both options - single strap and backpack style.

Nice looking case. If it was mine though, I would like the tubes shorter so I could grab the end of the butt and shaft.

I believe i will set the price of the case at 250 for the basic case. 300 for your name laser engraved, both do include a bit of tooling.

and yes you can have the option of double strap or single strap but i have to say i brought it to the tournement last night and people loved it! you could be a sepctator while standing up and be very comfortable. also when you wash your hands in the restroom the case doesnt fall OFF your shoulders!!!!

and the tubes do not eat the whole cue, if you notice in the picture the butt end is still sticking out, sorry the one with a broken butt cap is my TS =( hahaha but even thenn i can still pull it out. i will ask for your cue lenght upon making the case.

The lid is something i am still experimenting, honestly its really cool because even if its off you can still attach it to the case so you dont have to set it down like a Ron thomas case or a its George. and yes i am going to give the option of having it attached or unattached. (but as a signiture of my case i really like it to be unattached)

the case weights about 6.5 pounds, close to my old instroke but keep in mind that when you wear it with two straps its a equal distribution and its extremly comfortable.

In adition i use an 7 to 8 oz leather on the main body and a 4 - 5 oz on the pocket. these combinationss are really thick to give it extreme protection.

Im still working out kinks to make sure once i ship them out that they will be a great, strong and durable case that will catch anyones attention.

Now as for the envelope style, as of right now i will stick to it because its honestly not that much tougher to do the enclosed case in my opinion but ask your self, do you want rivets all the way down your back? so im working on a design for them to not get in the way.

and i did want to include a picture of what laser engraving is so that you guys can see why it is more expensive

i might take some cheaper orders in the begining to help me test out good designs. let me know if you are intrested. Thank you all for your comments and please keep them cooming with great tips and what your prefrences are

There was a case in those pictures?.........
Seriously tho' Really nice work! Love the color.

Looks great!

It does seem like the butt on the right in the pics is a little deep into the tube.

Can you share how you did the lining on the tubes? I know I asked about it in the other thread, but it still seems real tricky to me. How did you know what size to sew the tube? What material did you use?

on my tubes i didnt have to sew it but if you want the diameter then take the inside diameter of the tube and multiply it by pie which is 3.14 i believe. the cut it out. but i didnt sew mine, its honestly not needed if you pull it tight enough.

Phillip, don't mean to highjack your thread. But here three pictures of tubes before insert and after. Don't remember who original post them.

First Case

Very nice case.

1) What color leathers do you offer? You mentioned brushing with a textured dye – so is partically any color an option?

2) How do you get the leather laser engraved? Is this a service someone else provides to apply to your leather? Is this engraving just one color or can multiple colors be incorporated?

3) Can you post your side handle design? There is a variety of options for handles. Some are well padded. Some are braided style.

4) What about semi-unattached top? Have the top removable except for a leather strap attached to a side ring – so folks do not lose it.

5) You might consider showing scrolling patterns, initial carving styles, carving examples, etc.

6) Do you have any examples of leather items you have carved?

I am in Houston on the west side of town toward Katy. Where do you shoot when in Houston?

hmm lets see, ima try to answer each question one by one =D

1) I offer all the basic colors for right now black, brown, tan, british tan, chocolate. I believe im missing some colors. The teturing is the way I brush it by hand and I do coat it with a double coat technique that I kinda made up haha it works

2) I have a good friend that owns a $21,000 laser engraving machine. and currently I am working on the different colors for that as we speak

3) I will have a picture of the side handle on case number 002 inwhich this one will be my personal case

4) I will end up doing a attached lid but as my style in my case I want it to look extremely simple to give it a sleek design.

5)I will be doing scrolling patterns later, I honestly like the simpleness of the case right now, but yes i will give patterns later

6)no i have not started carving yet for the simple fact that I want to get a solid case out first, I want to take it one step at a time to become extremely confident with everything before I get into carving

The only problem with doing it this way is that it makes the case bulkier and bumpier than it needs to be.

However, this does give me an idea of how to do something that been on the back burner for years. Since we have a laser we can cut parts like this easily and this gives me the inspiration to make a really cool case with pocket contained inside the case. It's been done before by me and New York case but not in the way I envision now.

Sorry to jack your thread there Phillip. While you have access to the laser engraver you should think about what parts you can be cutting using it to make your life easier.

You will no doubt remember that this describes what I've wanted but haven't been able to finish my design.
