I too like the inlay work around the propeller.

I really like the border inlay around the alternating MOP inlays in the rings. Nice touch.
 
Another thumbs up for the inlay around the propeller, very nice. I am curious why you chose to use a spear in the points instead of a propeller like the butt sleeve.

Well I really wanted to keep the focus on the propellor / flourette. I toyed with a prop, a peacock, and the spear, truthfully they would of all worked, but IMHO the spear was a nice inlay, not drawing focus from the sleeve.

Hey Joe, Super nice and sharp design from Skip there! The MOP/ ivory elements work well together. Everything looks nice and crisp...we expect no less from Skip.

I agree the inlay around the prop is different................. I like it. There is always a way to take a classic design and put your own touch to it.............................. very nice cue.
 
I love the butt sleeve too! I think who ever design that has got good taste. But the ring work kinda look like a richard black.

What kind or wrap will be on it?

The rings are thin ivory with the big dots being ivory with a pearl dot, and the small ones are just pearl dots. Black leather, smooth.

Thats the real deal in inlays. All pointed, no glue lines, and all dead on centers. Inside the pearl is real ebony and it is also an inlay.

It's come to my attention....

.. 2 people have commented to me that my flourette behind the propeller is very Black Boarish, anybody else think that? Because it's really a design that spawned from something I had been working on for a while.

I thought it was an improvement on an existing McDermott engraving!!! I don't think it is Black Boarish. It didn't remind of any other cuemaker design. That is kind of hard to do nowadays. Great cue. Now the forearm, on the other hand.....

i think youre ok. the combo in total is unlike anything ive seen.

if thats the case you could just about pick apart any inlay done today.

very hard to be 100% original

looks good
