My Garage..........Update !!!!!

well, whats the word? is it done?B.

Unfortunately, not yet. Ernesto and Oscar picked up the rails on Wednesday to install the new rubber. I picked up the rest of the painted parts and the new Simonis arrived in the mail yesterday.

I tried to take some pics of the Simonis and parts, but my camera wasn't cooperating today.

The table should be set up sometime next week. The wait is killing me....

I'll try to take some more pics tomorrow.

Russ.......

What are you doing with the garage door? I had my contractor frame it out, and match it to the interior and exterior walls. Looks just like the house was built that way. Just curious.

Russ

Hey Russ,

How are you?? Been a while since I have seen you post. I made the decision to leave the garage door in place for a few reasons. I may want to use the garage for a vehicle someday ('09 Z06 Vette??) and I want to be able to open it up while I am playing once in a while. The down side would be bugs flying into the garage at night. We had fierce winds last week, along with fires, and there was a little dirt in the corners of the door and I just vacuumed it up, no problems. I did add a weatherstripping along the floor under the door. When I get my camera working, I'll take some more pics, but right now for some reason, the pics have little white lines through them.

Have a great day!!

Is a 19' x 20' double car garage big enough for a 9' GC table. I guess I will find out, just puchased a GC today.:D :D
How big is your gargage?

seal it

I ran a bead of urethane around the perimeter of my garage door to seal it. The urethane can be painted to match your house, will hold up better than latex caulking, and can be cut off when you decide to use the door. It helped a lot to seal the door from outside air on cold nights.

I would seal it up, but I want to be able to open it when I want.

The door is the insulated type and I have AC and heat in the room!!

Well, my old camera died so I went out this AM and picked up a new one.

Here are a few pics of the painted parts, Royal Blue Simonis, chromed parts and the garage door weather stripping.

Hopefully the table will get set up this week. Ernesto has been super busy lately!! Good for him, bad for me...

All your stuff looks really nice!.. I would seal it up in a nice insulated atmosphere though. The dust, moisture, bugs and climate are going to give your new table and room a fit if you don't, not to mention your cues.

What a beautiful set-up you have there.

Usually with Ernesto, the rails alone will take him two to three weeks to get done, then it's a matter of scheduling the reassembly. It's worth the wait - something you will appreciate more and more as the years go on, especially when you have to play on other equipment.

Chris

i had Ernesto do my last table in 2000.

my room should be ready for him in a week, so I need to import him to vegas, i have the patience but it will seem like forever.

your room is gonna be great, GC1's are great tables.

Thanks Craig !!! I was up nights worrying about how it would look, but realized that no matter how it looks, it will play awesome, which is the most important to me.

Bigjohn - I hear ya and if it does get to annoying with the dust and bugs, I will seal up the door and just not use it. I have spent some time in there and even with the ferocious winds, it wasn't too bad. Time will tell.....

Thanks again Chris!! I have played on many tables set up by Ernesto and he is the best. Ready to hit some balls soon??

And......Thanks Eric!! If you need Ernesto in a week, you should have called him about a month ago !! Good luck with your room and be sure to post up some pics when you are done.

Russ,

Doing okay. The long stay over here is kind of getting to me though. Right now, I am coming up on the 7th inning stretch, saving enough money to finish up my college degree, (1 semester of online school left..) and get 2 or three IT certifications to prepare to go back to work in Florida. Afterwards, the plan is to take some extended time off to sharpen my game, and spend some "make up" time with the family. I really am shooting for a good solid six months of practice.. If finances work out after tax time, it may be 9 months!

I have barely been playing at all over here. I am on night shift, so there is never anyone to play, and I have to cut into my sleep by 3-4 hours to even go tohe tournaments. Lately, it just hasn't seemed worth it.. I'd rather get the extra sleep.

Right now, on my day off (which I consider myself lucky to get), I am more likely to get on my laptop and play games. Practicing pool right now is just frustrating, because I know it'll take a while to rebuild my game back to where I want it to be. When Scott Lee came over while I was on leave, I did well against him when we shot a few afterwards, but I am nowhere near satisified with my game.

I figure maybe it's better to put pool on hold until I can dedicate a good amount of practice, you know?

Russ

Russ.......Glad to hear you are doing well. Sounds like you are taking a good level headed approach to your situation. And I agree that if you can't have "good" practice, that you would be better off to wait.

Take care buddy,

Russ.......

Hey Russ, I seen Ernesto @ Hard Times tonight in bellflower. He was in the 'BIG' tourny, the first Sunday of the month. I guess he needed some extra pocket money. I wanted to ask him about your rails but I think that would of FREAKED him out. he,he,he...

Any way, pics look great, can't wait to see the final out come...

Hey..........how did Ernesto do??? I just got off the phone with Oscar and he just caught the money. He did mention that they would be able to get to my table Wed or Thurs......sure hope so!

Dunno if it's your camera new or your table new but those steels really shine..that logo alone is enough to make people jealous. Mine are gold-plated and have all turned dull after two years of ball busting..I should've sprayed a couple of transparent paint over them when they were first assembled, now I regret..
