I wouldn't exactly call myself an apologist. I never made apologies for the IPT. The worst I can be called is a sympathizer maybe, because I chose to believe the best. :o

An apologist isn't someone who apologizes. An apologist is someone who tries to reconcile conflicts between "the party line" and reality, using dodgy rhetorical devices to obfuscate difficult facts. To wit:

WAIT...there's an arbiter in his home state that probably has much more hands on experience--probably the most painless and economical way to resolve the issue;)
 
Well... 12 pages into this thread, I feel it necessary that I finally give my OFFICIAL IPT statement (even though I"m not half as important as Marissa, Timberly or Eydie). So... here goes....

AHEM....

Um, wasn't the IPT declared dead last week? The IPT appears to be very much alive but hiding in a weakened condition. It seems as though the drama still has a lot of play in it. I would not be surprised at this point if it continues into next year with the hope on hope on hope scene. Other than the 3 milion owed the players couldn't have done anything other than accept the IPT's dictates anyway. The 3 million only gives the players something to sue for should they choose to.

As for the other, well that remains to be further illuminated as well.

Not to be totally flippant but so far the IPT model has kept us at this lemonade stand for quite a while. And Doug is doing a brisk trade in popcorn.

Until the IPT is gone from the internet and television, it's not over is my view.

And Mrs. Romano, please don't emulate the Trudeau format of announcements about announcements. I'll subscribe to your IPT blog if you'll just come out with it!!! :-)

Yes, Deno is a good friend of mine, but we rarely discuss business. I will say that any misshapenness are not faulted to him. He has been involved in billiards for many years and has numerous friends and connections in the industry; he would not sabotage or betray that for any person.

This is a new and unprecedented venture for the pool world, so of course there are going to be unexpected setbacks. I know everyone has questions, including why Deno hasn't been posting on the messageboard or why he hasn't acknowledged some of your inquiries, but keep in mind that as an officer of the company, he is under a legal obligation not to discuss particular facets until a specific date and time.

Remember that most of have been hopeful in seeing this endeavour a success from the beginning, and I don't yet see it as a failure.

PLease tell Deno that we are all 100% behind him in his efforts to make the IPT the Great success we all know it will be.
But the players need to be paid real soon or there is not much hope.
