My Jack Justis Case

Contact Jack. He is a good guy to deal with. I dealt once. Would deal again. Reputable.
http://www.justiscases.net/

I know what the poster means about Jack but in the other content there is no dealing. Jack has a set price and that is it. Doesn't matter who you are or how any you order, he treats everyone the same.

You can't appreciate one until you own it. Problem is it doesn't make you a better player and it is almost a shame to have one and not play good enough to be a worthy owner.

.

I LOVE my Justis Case. There is one thing to remember if you have a long cue with a big pin like a Radial pin however. Jack says his standard case will accomodate a 60" cue. My cues are all 59" and mainly have Radial pins. Some have joint protectors. The case will not allow the 59" cues to have the end caps on. The top will not quite close. Jack doesn't seem to agree that 3/8 X 10, 3/8 X 11, and radial pins are NORMAL now. he told me he doesn't know why the cuemakers use such long pins. I told him it was because the PLAYERS like them, but he couldn't seem to get it. Granted, my cues are 59". Common nowadays methinks. So be sure to measure your cue's LOA WITH the end caps if you have 'em...Tom

P.S. I DO LOVE my Justis case, just cant use the JPs

Mine has the Tube interior. Not a good picture. The leather looks real nice close up. Pride of Ownership here.

I don't because mine has a JB Case interior.

I have a JB Case that my wife bought me (what cruel joke). I would trade 12 of them for one Justis. I don't sleep any better at night knowing my shafts don't vibrate.

What's wrong with it. You have complained without any details. You said you emailed us but we can't find a single email from you. Your name is Nick Beratanos right? Well Mr. Beratanos we don't find any emails. You were sent a pm through azbilliards which you did not respond to. So if you don't tell JB Cases what's wrong and give them an opportunity to address the issue then they can't very well help you now can they?

If the case bothers you that much then make a thread and tell the world about it. Show off all the things you hate and let it be a warning to the world to stay away from JB Cases. In the absence of that or allowing us the chance to make you happy we feel that your vague complaint has no basis.

With more than 50 pages of testimonials from satisfied customers, including many Justis, owners, we must be getting lucky on some of the cases we deliver. We sincerely apologize to you IF we provided a defective case to your wife. We have a full satisfaction guarantee as has been explained to you before.

So if you want to tell us what's wrong we will try fix it. If not then we will simply tell you the same thing each time you make a remark about how unhappy you are with no details.

Mike/John,
My wife bought it through a retailer while we were in Vegas (I have the receipt):
3 x 6 Black "tribute case" She liked it and thought I would. Lucky me
1. First the strap breaks (my stuff is heavy but it should not happen) (first the strap then the clasp)
2. Then zipper on larger pocket comes off because thread breaks.
3. Case shows incredible amount of wear around the pockets and along bottom off case. Comparable In-Stroke, Giuseppe and Whitten's are 10~20 years old and all look better than my 3 year old JB.
4. Overall the fit and finish is poor to average.

I can send you photo's if you like?

I have been waiting over a year and a half for the retailer to "get in new straps" and send me one. I use a old laptop strap in it's place. Local shoe maker fixed the zipper. The case stands in my office wrapped in a Sterling padded travel case. Once a week it goes in my car and gets pulled out in the parking lot. Back in it goes when I'm finished for a ride home. In general the case lives a pretty cushy life.

Oh and the name is Beretanos and it's below my sig.

That sounds like a terrible experience. Our apologies but we did not make your case. You do not own a JB Case.

As previously mentioned we have no record of talking to you directly about this. However using the proper spelling of your name we have found an email that was forwarded to us dated April 5th 2011. You have our apologies for not addressing the issue earlier. As indicated in your email it is the swivel clasp that broke. We don't see anything about the strap having broken prior to that. We will send you a new pair of clasps immediately and your local shoemaker can install them. Based on the strap you do not own a JB Case. We did not produce this case in our shop. We designed it and it was built by the Jiasen Cue Case Factory.

While we designed the J.Flowers tribute series we do not manufacture the production version. That said we were asked to help and it seems as if we failed to provide help and also the retailer who sold you the case didn't follow up with it. As to the zipper issue that is highly unusual but certainly a reason to have expected an exchange. And of course we at JB Cases can't take responsibility for a case we didn't actually make.

It just seems as if you have had an all around bad experience though with a case that we designed but did not build. Perhaps this is our karma that you would get the lemon :-) given the previous animosities that you have directed in our direction and vice versa. That aside we will be happy to send you the hardware to take care of the strap. Regarding the finish issues you speak of we really can't do much there for you except recommend that you speak with Sterling again and try and arrange a replacement for the case you have had for more than a year.

Even Mr. Justis has occasional hardware issues with the snaps breaking or not holding properly and the corners on our 2006 Justis are also worn even though the case has not been used since 2008. Unfortunately there isn't much that makers can do but try to get the best hardware they can and hope it does the job.

If your address is not the same as in the email you sent to Mr. Carter please inform us of that.

Also feel free to publish pictures of the case and let us all see how badly it looks. Also you can tell us how long you have owned it as from your email you say you purchased it in 2010. So the last event that Sterling did in Vegas in 2010 was the APA in the fall. That indicates about 6 months use at least before the swivel latch on the strap broke. Which shouldn't have happened of course if the case was used normally, and certainly not with the light use you describe.

For the latches we use here at JB Cases we test them to withstand at least 50lbs of downward force. And naturally we pass that specification to the manufacturer but sometimes even with all that mechanical parts break.

Well none of it excuses the fact that you had a problem and no one fixed it. New latches are on the way to you in a few days if we don't hear from you that the address needs to be changed. Then you will have a whole case to sell and purchase yourself a Justis. Mr. Justis is getting up there in years and ready to retire so it is advisable to hurry and get your order in. We will chip in $50 towards having your new Justis personalized to make up for ignoring your email a year ago.

Our deepest deepest sympathies that you were caused so much grief by a product that we designed but did not make.

We feel terrible.

So let me get this straight...

1. I recieved a knock of of a knock off from your retailer?
2. It's not your case but you'll send me a new clasp?
3. Why not send me a new starp?

If you send me a new starp I promise to take a video using the dullest butter knife I can find and post it here claiming the box was empty, thus generating the second funniest thread in AZ history.

"Mike",
What times zone do you operate in Canada? Curious based on the time of your response? No sale. Nobody is that stupid John.

I'm off to my jeweler to confirm my Omega is real. When I bought it I felt like James Bond. Maybe in reality I'm Mr. Bean.

2. It's not your case but you'll send me a new clasp?
3. Why not send me a new starp?

Nick

It seemed rather clear from Mike's post that he indicated that JB designed the cases for another cue case company. Never known anyone to call that a "knock-off".

While that doesn't make them responsible for the manufacturing/production issues with the case, they probably feel they should help you since they helped design it. I know I would do the same.

So let me get this straight...

1. I recieved a knock of of a knock off from your retailer?

Sterling is not our retailer. They sell J.Flowers tribute case that we designed and which were made by another facility. Those were not our cases, we did not sell them to Sterling. Much the same as the Justis West cases except we did not and do not have any financial deal beyond the initial design. The J.Flowers cases are not a knockoff of any other case maker's work. They are a differently designed tribute to the cases made by Nora Van Horn and Jay Flowers. In exactly the same way that Justis cases were similar to Nora's cases.

2. It's not your case but you'll send me a new clasp?

Yes. Because in the first place we should not have ignored the email we got from Sterling asking us for help. In the second it's a small thing for us to do and in the third we are certain that our hardware will hold up.

3. Why not send me a new strap?

We can do that but we saw nothing to indicate that your existing strap is broken. We saw a picture of a broken clasp. We can send you a black strap if you like.

If you send me a new starp I promise to take a video using the dullest butter knife I can find and post it here claiming the box was empty, thus generating the second funniest thread in AZ history.

As you wish.

"Mike",
What times zone do you operate in Canada? Curious based on the time of your response? No sale. Nobody is that stupid John.

You missed the thread where we changed this account to a general service account. We have staff around the world who can answer questions at all times.

I'm off to my jeweler to confirm my Omega is real. When I bought it I felt like James Bond. Maybe in reality I'm Mr. Bean.

Just because we do the initial design of a product does not mean we retain control of it once the client begins producing it at different facilities. We clearly state on our website which of the J.Flowers cases we made, all unique cases, and which ones were made in the factory. As we said though we do feel some responsibility for the production cases and we will be happy to send you a strap. And if you order a Justis with your name on it send us a copy of the receipt along with a picture of the case and we will send you $50 towards the cost of the name as a penance for not taking care of this immediately.

At least we can get closure for you and perhaps the need to make snide remarks about the protection of our cases will subside with time. We assume then that your address is correct and with that the strap will be on the way today.

Again our deepest apologies for causing you grief.
