Congrats, Jim. I've seen a lot of JWs and although they are superb and tasteful cues, frankly imho none are in this realm. Bill has gotten into new territory with this one....you really have a special cue there, my friend.
Jim,
Sean is right, THAT CUE IS INCREDIBLE!
Bill is so unique in his design and execution,TRULY A WORK OF ART"
Enjoy"

Thanks for all the kind words.

Some people are just easy to make great cues for.

Jim is one of them.

Sincerely,

Bill Stroud

Bill, really awesome work on this cue. You know you've really hit a home run when it just keeps looking better with each peek at it. I can picture Jim waking up in the night and venturing out to unlatch his case and take another look. :)

That is one unbelievable cue. The term 'MONSTER' is overused but in this case, it's perfect !!!!!!!!

Frankly I think people on this site are WAY too quick to hurl raving compliments at any 'ol stick of wood. In this case however, I think this is one of the nicest fancy cues that I have ever seen! The overall design is complex and intricate, yet not over done, and the attention to detail is clearly meticulous. An absolutely stunning piece of workmanship. I hope you have some matching JPs in the works . . .

jimmy my friend, we have had some great discussions about this cue and how much this cue means to you. well, this is truly one of the great masterpieces. the work and detail especially below the wrap is amazing, the colors and the workmanship are all outstanding. i can't wait for you to show this cue alongside the gina at the show in a couple of weeks, if there was a way i could be there i would. mr. stroud, you really have made jimmy the cue of his dreams, thank you.

Guy,
After the many conversations we had about this cue, it finally arrived and it has been like Christmas when I was kid.

I truly appreciate your friendship.

Thanks,
Jimmy

My new Josswest cue I have been waiting for arrived yesterday. And it turned out very special. :)

I have always been one of Bill Stroud's biggest fans. His contributions to cuemaking can't be understated.

At the beginning of the year Bill and I started to come up with a design scheme. One of my favorite cues of all time was Dr. Wu's Josswest cue that was featured in the "Hand of the Masters" calendar several years ago. So Bill and used that cue as a starting point and then took this cue to an advanced level. Similar design in the forearm and then an extreme 4th axis design in the back.

Materials we decided upon were ebony, ivory, black mother of pearl and then a ton of silver work. From there we went with an A++++ piece of birdseye in the forearm. 4 ebony points with white, silver, white and black veneers. Four ivory points between tipped with an elegant ivory spear above. Rings of silver, ivory and black mother of pearl. Black monitor lizard wrap.

In the butt sleeve, the starting point was 8 ovals of black MOP surrounded with a thick silver venner. Then tied everything together with ivory and black MOP inlays all wrapped in silver. Fancy joint caps from JW are still in the works.

I will be taking the cue to Houston to the ICCS show and it will be displayed on the Grand Collection table.

Here are pics.

Thanks to Mr. Stroud for everything including his friendship.

Jimmy,

You have reached a new level in your cue collecting escapades: The Sky!!
That is not only a great, great Josswest cue, it looks like one of the best cues ever made! Every element goes together, and I know you take great pride of ownership. You are right when you say Bill Stroud is one of history`s top cue makers, and you know I have thought that for a long, long time.

Thanks for sharing! See you in Houston.

Will :) :) :p :p :) ;)

Will,
Thanks for the comments. You know how much your input has always meant to me. You have helped me out in a lot of ways in the past few years and I appreciate it.

Looking forward to Houston and seeing a lot of the guys that we only see a couple of times a year.

Take care,
Jimmy

Sweet,,,,,,,those fancy new Black Boars and Manzinos have nothing on this cue. Great to see an old school cue builder stepping up to shown them how its done,,,,,,,congratulations!

Awesome cue! Bill came through big time on this cue. This is the prettiest JW I have seen. Congrats!

Holy mother of pearl!

This may be my all-time favorite cue from Mr. Stroud. Wow. That's all I can say.

Thanks

HIRUN526, qfancier and torqiet,
Thanks for the compliments. The response for this cue has been great.

Every few hours I pull it out of the case and take a quick peek. :)
