My Latest Cue Conversion - One Piece Brunswick 26-1/2

26 1/2

Craig,
You hit on some very valid points, the best being you have to do what makes you feel good. That's the important thing. If you aren't happy, it will show in the cues. Besides if we wanted to just stand at a lathe and turn out parts we could probably make more money running someone elses CNC machines. I especially like the comment about the wood talking to you. I've had some long conversations with some cues, sometimes one sided. They are most often correct. I like to hang them on one side of the shop and just look at them from a distance. I seem to see colors better that way. I look forward to seeing some of your future full splice work.

Nice Work, The finish did come out good. That wood really does pop out at you.:)
I can relate to the wood talking to you while building. People that don't know look at Me Like I'm nuts when I mention It, so I don't mention It as much anymore.:D

Chris - you might be right, but I saw the cue after sanding but before finishing, and if it isn't Brazilian Rosewood it is its exact twin.

Craig - great job, looking forward to seeing it in person!

Thanks for the input Scott, Hope to see you and Paul this weekend>

Have a good one partner!!!!

Thanks Tate and Thanks Robert, for the kind words, and your valuable insight.

Have a very Good Day!!!!

I would like to make a comment here about the design.

I love it.

The more I look, the more detail I see. What I like how the cue showcases the handle/prong section. You showed the clean inner points and it looks like you went off the forearm veneer colors in the buttwork. I like the small chain link rings. They stand out sell and dress up the cue without distracting from the colored rings.

I can see the thought you put into this. I have a couple of Titlists with the same prong/handle wood and a couple of 26 1/2's with the same veneer colors. While my goal is to preserve these cues, I can see where it would be tempting to have a first rate conversion done.

Thanks Chris, I do put a lot of thought into the design of any cue I build. Although I also let each cue tell me how to build it. I never start a conversion from a preconceived design in the traditional sense by drawing it out on paper, I just follow my feelings, this way every cue is unique for many different reasons.

Again thanks for your opinion, it truly means allot to me, and one thing for sure, this is only beginning!!

Have a great night Chris!!!!!

Biggest thing that jumps out at me is the different color tone of the old maple vs. the new maple.
Very much agreed. This in fact was the first thing I looked out for when I read that you were using a extra piece of curly maple for the butt end. It turned out nice and great work!

I love it.
