My Luck has Turned...

Cue score

Congrats!
That is a nice cue.

Do you have it in your hand now?
I worry about all you see on ebay scams - although I have bought 30 +- items and only one dissapointment.

Robert,

I have the cue.

I am very fortunate. This seller is one terrific man. He knows he under-priced the cue and was offered a lot more to cancel the deal with me after the fact. He went through with it anyway.

He is being rewarded for his honesty, trust me.

Chris,

I sure wish I'd had the same seller on that big Rambow! Imagine scoring and then having him sell it out from under you!

Congratulations on the buy!!! They just don't get much better than that! Of course I'm willing to give you $2,500 plus $100 to send it to Phoenix... Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy seriously, Chris! Have you hit any balls with it yet?

Steve

Did I ever mention that I hate you TATE?...Just kidding...nice find man. Every time I am out of town on business I tend to sneak off to the pawn shops for a peek. Still waiting for the day I come across an older nice cue.

I saw the cue and really loved the look.
Really glad it made it to the hands of a fellow AZB member.
Congrat's!

Tate, hope you throw him about $4k more. Wow....and who said ebay doesn't occasionally have deals.

Sean

Awesome find Chris! ebay does turn up deals every once in a while, couldn't have happened to a better guy! Now I need to win the lotto and everything should even out, hehehe.

Great buy

Chris, Good things happen to good people thanks for your help and information. That case that came with the Gus is that anything special?

Thank you everybody! As you can tell, I'm really excited about this cue.

The cue came with this case. When it came in, I recognized the case as a Palmer case made by the Fine Brothers in Brooklyn. I asked Peter Balner about it. It turns out that both Gus Szamboti and George Balabushka bought cases from Palmer (but without the Palmer logo) to sell to their customers.

I've been buying these old luggage style cases separately for a while now because they are often paired with these older historic cues, but it's really great when they come in a set like this - makes it a little more "complete".

After a string of junky disappointment cues, several of which were returned, I finally did pretty good this week.

I scored an original Palmer First catalog from 1965 - the real thing.

I did pretty well on e-bay for once too. I was the seventh person to view the ad:

All in all, a good week.

Chris
