My name is Earl

Daaaaaaaaaaaang, that crowd was out of control. Poor Earl, he is one of my favorites.

At least the USA brought the Cup home....take that Mika and Kaiser.:D

Earl's certainly a passionate guy.

I remember seeing Earl play flawless pool (5-0) in Cardiff against local player Rob Mckenna despite taking one hell of a verbal assault from the crowd.

I also remember seeing Earl almost beat himself up against Steve Davis on his way to an 11-10 victory, also in Cardiff. His frustration that day was aimed solely at his own play, although he kept pulling off top draw shots regardless the size of the hole he kept digging for himself.

One thing for certain he's one hell of a player.

Passionate is not the word I would use. More like psychotic. He's a jackass, this is more proof.

I guess Elizabeth was right about the crowd having horns! That's some crazy noise there. I do love the split-second freeze from Earl when he saw his cue disentegrate.

Heh, that'd make a good selling slogan for the cue. "Comes apart just like Earl does!"

!!!!!!!!!

They don't call him Earl the Pearl because he can't play. No matter what
Earls there for one thing only an thats to win. Sounded like the horn for submarines to dive in the background, wonder how we would preform under those conditions? Congrats Earl and Team USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree.

It isn't funny. It's sad.

I agree this is a very sad display of sportsmanship. Sure the guy may be able to play lights out, but who would want to play with someone, a so called "professional," that acts like that? I use the term "professional" with caution because the words "Earl Strickland" and "professional" seems more like an oxymoron to me than anything else. The two just don't belong in the same sentence.

"Passionate" about the game or not, there is no room for that crap in any sport regardless of anyone's stature. If I was on that team, I know I would have been embarassed to have accepted the cup standing next to him. I have a 3 year old that acts better than that.

Funny thing if anyone noticed, Strickland is the only one in the photo raising his arm in celebration (See attachment & also on the AZBilliards home page).

Just my two cents & I am sure I will probably catch some flack over it. Oh well.
Thanks for reading.
Craig

I wonder how well Immonen and Alcaide got along playing together. I know that Mika hates David with a passion because of what he did to him in the WPC. Mika seems like he is not the type of person that lets that sort of thing go.

I wish I had been siiting in the crowd near the front, I would have yelled out that a shard of cue tec shaft hit me in the eye.....He really is sad to watch now a days.

Well now you know why he wears safety glasses when playing. It wouldve been better if he wouldve broke the shaft over his face.
