My new Craig Petersen

This is a Craig Petersen, flat faced, cue made in 1989. The fore end has 6 points, 3 low and 3 high, made of Swartzia wood, with white/black veneers into birds eye maple. The butt is Swartzia with white/black veneers touching the butt cap. Joint is flat faced with maple dashes and ebony slots. Length is 60", total weight is 19.2 oz. (butt weighs 15.4 oz.). (2) shafts with micarta ferrules, each one weighs 3.8 oz

maybe it's those original Tips..
Are they original? If then if they are, would you change them??
I wouldn't...
It will be like selling the Original Tires off the all Original '57 Chevy.

Congrats on what is probably the steal of the year. I REALLY like the cue, enjoy playing with it. :smile:

I think the steal of the year was the pickup of the misrepresented barry Szamboti ok eBay for 1600.
 
I never heard of "Swartzia Wood" before. Is it some type of Mahogany? It resembles Mahogany to me.

Looked it up and it seems to be something like a Pau Ferro, A south american Rosewood. Does that sound right??
 
I would not know but, it does have a rosewood color to it, but different grain to it. Nice looking wood though.
