My new PFD almost finished

How nice of Drexler to venture out to be helpful
That is typical of him, when I first met him I was impressed so much
with his work.Yet,like most people
I was afraid to jump in and buy until I confirmed my opinion
with some friends Jerry franklin and Mike Cochran.
Both of these guys just smiled and confirmed what I already
thought,Later when I wanted the gambling mouse cue design of mine
made I was visiting almost daily with Mike Cochran,he loved
the idea of mine but after a year told me that he couldn't make it,
He told me to call my friend, meaning Paul Drexler saying

"That guy can do things that no one else can do"

After some 15 years of knowing Paul the thing I now find so
good about him is his eagerness to help and please, this
surprised me as he had a stand off image to many cue makers,

Like many other first impressions,I found the reality was far different.

I also found out that I do better just roughly describing what I want and letting him take it from there.

At any rate, the cue on here is nice to look at,I am sure the playability will
make you even happier,

Thanks for sharing this story:):):)It is nice hearing those kind of things and it's so great knowing that his work is appreciated between guys who really knows something about cues and has great taste.
He certainly has been nice and helpful all way thru our deal and can't wait to try playability on this cue although I already know it is going to play perfectly:):):)

Paul Drexler makes some of the finest cues in the world.
His recent high end cue work is mind boggling in design detail (and execution).

I have known Paul for well over 20 years. I have personally ordered several high end customs from Paul,
thoroughly enjoyed the correspondence and conversations during the building intervals, and give him my highest recommendation.

You will find his cues hit as good as they look.

Thanks Will
You have full right saying this about Paul.He has been pleasent to deal with all way thru and all cues he has built that I have seen are executed extremely well and workmanship is top notch.
Can't wait to have this one in my hands:smile::smile::smile::p:smile::smile::smile:

Can't wait to see how does it look like with the wrap:):):):p:):):)

Yes, Gerhard that is a blank that John made specifically for me with the wood (Amboyna burls) I sent him. Was not sure the veneer colors would really work out until I saw the blank turned - but when I did I had John make a Padauk full spliced wrap less style blank as well - just waiting for the right customer . . .

Paul

ps. The cue will look even nicer with the brown leather wrap on it

Add me to the list of fans of Paul Drexler.

He built a cue for me and I was stunned. I played with the cue for a long time. (Nobody mentioned his cues play great).

IMO, Paul Drexler and Thomas Wayne are always pushing the envelope. Moreover, I think diversity of styles and themes, are without equal.

Congrats on great cue.

Paul, another homerun.

Example of a perfect customer

I must say that from start to finish Davor has been a great customer - certainly we could all use more like him. It was my pleasure to make him a custom cue. Emails were always prompt, polite and to the point - payment was never a question - have no problem recommending him to fellow AZers.

Well, this is something what I miss here a lot.If I would need a fix I would have to cross 10000 miles to have it.It would certainly be nice talking cues with someone who knows:wink:
No cuemakers around.Even in Europe there are no any worth of mentioning:o:o:o:sorry::o:o:o
You have lucky and you can learn on cues much easier and faster.Guess whenever you come in his shop for a visit you learn something about building process as well and have no any doubts that you have learned a thing or two:smile:

You are about 600km away from Cem in Münich and around 1000km
from Arthur cues. Trust me, they are both worth mentioning.

+1

Paul made me a sweet hitting player. Even though I had a small budget compared to most of the work Paul does he still made me feel like a valued customer and exceeded all my expectations. I know you'll enjoy your new cue, love the burl; it reminds me I need to hurry up and get better so I can have Paul make me something a little fancier, I still feel a little funny sometimes knocking balls into the rails with such a nice cue.

Very nice cue by Paul D.
It's interesting that you have any progress pics, knowing how much Paul loves to send them.
He probably had someone do it for him.

Glad that you like it.:).It has come out really awesome, even much better I thought it would.Actuyll,I knew Paul would come out with something beautiful as he always does, but he added a few more things on the cue and have made it even better.
It surelly meets all my expectations and can't wait to have it in my hands:p:p:p
It's on its way to Croatia.
From what I know his workmanship is top notch and have always wanted a cue from him.
He was pleasure to deal with and as I mentioned he added some extras, and I am more than appreciative for that:)

I am fortunate to be within close proximity to PFD Studios. Paul has done everything for me from duplicating Palmer shafts to a few customs. In between there has been beautiful old growth shafts, delicate repairs on vintage Palmers, and 6 and 11 stage wraps on Paradise restorations.

Like a previous poster said, my low level work has never fazed Paul and he has never made me feel that my work is less important than his world-class creations.

His ability to do almost anything has led me to expect the same from others which is not always the case.

A visit with Paul is always interesting and insightful. His willingness to share his knowledge has helped me understand the time invested and difficulties encountered by cuemakers.
