I wanted to share my new African Black Wood Black Boar Players Cue with you all, and its cue caps by Alton.

This is hands down the best playing cue I have ever played with and I played with them all, from 12 to 30 yrs old. The ferrule-less shafts are simply amazing.Tonys cues are breathtaking and fine instruments meant to be played with.

I'm curious to know if you acquired this cue directly from Tony or if you got it from a seller here on AZ? Also if you wouldn't mind messaging the price of this cue that would be appreciated! I only ask because I'm interested in acquiring a BB player..

Killer cue Steve! Love the design. I KNOW it plays...

Alton did a great job on the caps as usual.

Congratulations,

Chris <~~~~~wants a spider cue

I bought it direct, Ive known Tony for years. I wont disclose prices as you must go through the process with him respectfully speaking. Tony will advise you the price for the cue requested.
The best i can do is this: it keep the boar value going by dealing with the maker directly

Thanks sir and I love Altons cue caps! Tony & Alton are the best in my eyes and thought they would compliment each other well

Fyi, this isnt the limited edition run of spider cues(this doesnt have a spider) but has the same fundamentals of which these players are made from. When Tony first made these cues, the first few had a spider and were limited edition. They wont be made anymore with a spider.Believe there were only 6 or 7 made in the world.

Player, Player, Player

Your cue is a precision billiard instrument that screams to be played with. Till someone feels the harmonics created with this cue they will never know how well a cue can play.

Nice cue.

Just curious. What is the concept behind ferrulless(sp?) shafts? I know OB has kind of grasped this with wood ferrulles but not sure whats the idea behind it.

Has alot to do with this link above, but please read all the lower links in left youll see tony is a genius and puts alot into every cue made.Deflection and i can just make the cue ball do amazing things.

Maybe others can elaborate more

Fantastic looking player!! Hope you enjoy it for a lifetime! Yeah, those ferruless shafts are the nutz!
:p

In simple terms, I would call them well engineered, high performance, low deflection shafts. It's my understanding that the tapers were electronically engineered and the fronts are also engineered for light weight/low deflection. I'm just guessing here, but I think the term "engineered" referrs to being scientifically designed, calculated and measured, I guess in terms of deflection and squirt, and probably also in terms of torque and thrust. I think the tapers are parabolic but not absolutely sure. I've heard also that these shafts were culled from literally hundreds of candidates (blanks) to be used as "ferruless", meeting Tony's high standards for tightness, grain and strength. Tony's a perfectionist and physics nut, thank God! Your cue is really special!
