Information about Mariposa Cues

from what I know, the cue I purchased is about 10-12 years old. Kyle produced cues form 1994-1996, And he did his apprentice under Joe Gold. The cue I have is a rare cue as it has a birdseye maple handle, not a wrap. And very few of these cues were made that way. I talk with Kyle about a week ago, and he has begin making cues again, he told me he has about ten blanks that have been seasoning since about 96, one which I've spoken for already, So if you are interested give him a call, he can be contacted at (847)989-5953 Also on page 459 of the Blue book 3rd edition, I'm sure he be happy to here from you all. Thanks for the nice comments Phil.

Your pics make me sick that I sold it. Im very glad that you bought it, it went to the right home for sure. Your pics look professional, the quality of the wood is shown off. WOW!!!!!!!!Deacon

Sick thing is that the cue hits as good as it looks. Mariposa's have great feel like a 1piece. Also, everyone gets pin envy. Take care, Deacon

Butterfly

Guys from Hong Kong know of these things, that is why they are smarter then the pic to the left showing the guy with a foot in his mouth.:)

very nice pics.are the veneers in the rings made to look like they do or are they fading?that is the only reason i didn't buy it myself.i couldn't tell what was happening in the ringwork.

ring work question?

for you all that was wondering about the ring work, the same veneer work that was used in the flames was also used in the ring work, to some it may look as though the veneer is faded or a void in that section, but its actually the changes of the stitched veneer. It really adds to the look of the cue. Masonh I hate to say it, but I'm glad you had second thoughts on the cue, otherwise I would not have been able to pick it up. I have a new cue on order now with Kyle, his work is really good, and he has a few stitched veneer cues left. Can anyone tell me if any other cue makers uses or have used the stitch veneer in there cues? I would like to see some if there is.

Very nice

Very intricate cue. I have seen fancier and more colorful butterfly cues. But none that fit my taste more than this one. Beautiful!!
