I just thought someone out there would like to see a few pictures of my old R12 and hear the story behind it. I bought this cue about 15 years ago. I paid exactly $450.00 for it, which at that time in my life was a lot of money. I was working setting up pool tables all over the country at the time, but that life was never much considering some of the people I worked for. Through out the rough times (And God knows there were times I needed the money) I managed to keep it. Even when the suprise of a family came calling, I still managed to keep it.
It could use a good refinish and maybe a new shaft, but still i keep it in its' condition to remind me that while it may not be the fanciest cue I have seen, i am still lucky and thankful for what I have. I sometimes get jealous when i see a cue with a bunch of ivory or the super elegant exotic wood, but I remember my humble Schon and the joy it has brought me through the years.
All i am saying is that sometimes we should be thankful for what we have.
It's not all about having what you want, but wanting what you have. Unfortunately i think we forget that sometimes.
