My one pocket game

I've been playing for 57 years and play pretty good.
I have only been playing one pocket for about a year.
I played Rick in the past I got 9-6 when he broke and 9-7 when I broke.
I haven't played him in 6 months.
I have been playing other people.
Today we played.
He said he heard that my one pocket game had improved and i could only get 9-7.
Ok let's play.Measureman is a gunslinger and likes to out run the nuts.
We played for 5 hours and I came out one game ahead .
One game he made a mistake and i ran 7 and out.
I hope this all makes sense as I am on my second Saturday night strong Bourbon and coke. :thud:
 
Rick must play pretty good to let a good 14.1 player go to 6 or 7;)

I played a guy close to your age who is a 150+ ball runner. He put some 8 and outs on me;)

I bet you need to shoot at your hole more:D
 
as you gain experience in onepocket
you learn to make better decisions and learn shots you may not be familiar with from other games
that alone makes you tougher to beat even if your skills dont change

You got that right.
The banking has been the hardest to learn.
There are a lot of banks that you just dont shoot in other games.

I think Rick and me are about the same speed of player.
He just knows the game better.
 
Good on you! Rick is tough at that game and is in Felts practicing or in action about everytime I get down there. Your cue ball control lends itself to one pocket and it amazed me to see you made the switch from rotation to one hole. You should try and talk him into a game of straight pool and see how he likes that.

I've heard that after you are 70 years old(I'm 71) you need to switch to the old guys game.
It requires less shot making ability they say.
 
I think its Sunday afternoon and I am on my second strong GnT and I understand completely... I get 10-5 if we ever play.... :)

7 and out? Nicely done sir! You may not get that 9-7 spot again...

The coke just floats on the top of the Bourbon.
I'm getting 9-7 or I'm playing Shawn,I spot him 9-7.
I'm a gunslinger :thumbup:
For those that dont know a gunslinger in pool is a guy that fires at balls that he probably shouldn't.
Risk/reward.

You had to play pretty well to outrun Rick......I know how he plays.

Maybe you and I could get together and try some that same way? I will give you 9-7 and we can go from there?

I don't really get to play that much, it would be fun to give it a try though.
