Hi Guys,
I'm looking to fabricate my own brand of tips direct from my manufacturer in Japan. So, I'm just wondering what do cue builders consider to be some of the more important factors or component of a superior tip. These new tips are going to be similar to the Molavia brand that i have carried for years.
Under testing, I'm told that new formulated glue as well as an introduction of a special backing layer that my manufacturer will be using that can actually help with reducing cue ball deflection or "reduce the curve factor" as they put it.
I remember reading somewhere on Black Boar site that he was very selective of his tips and measure each hardness. The hardness for my new tips will be:
Cuemaster Soft (CM-S): 9 NM (Nano Meter)
Cuemaster Medium (CM-M): 18 NM (Nano Meter)
Cuemaster Hard (CM-MH): 25 NM (Nano Meter)
What is a Nanometer? A nanometer is a unit of spatial measurement that is 10 to the -9th meter, or one billionth of a meter.
I think the original MH Moori are 25 NM. Please let me know what other hardness I should consider. I was thinking of actually only carrying 2 hardness (Medium and Medium Hard).
These will be made of select pigskin naturally dry...the formulated glue is a secret. I'm trying to decide whether is better to offer the backing separate from the tip or have them compress then with them.
Anyhow, looking for ideas and feedbacks on my new brand of Tips "CueMaster"!!
Also, I will take custom order for you own special tips but order quantity is 1000 Minimum.
Regards,
Duc.
