My TOI experience

Foreigner, 38 Special, Lover Boy and Triumph

I saw Charlie Daniels before he was well known. I went to see REO Speedwagon and three other bands in Chicago. The first one, Locomotive GT got booed off of the stage with a flurry of beer bottles.

REO was next and played their big hits. Great concert! Then, everybody left. My friends and I walked up and leaned on center stage to hear the next two unknown groups. I had their albums, so we were really there to see them, too.

Charlie Daniels came out first followed by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Free Bird up close was amazing! The lead singer, Ronnie Van Zant came out in frayed white bell bottoms and sang in his bare feet.

Best,
Mike

That's cool, one of the only survivers from their plane crash used to come in my club. Carson's Palace on a regular basis....he was messed up, but lived to tell the story. I bet that concert was awesome.....I saw Foreigner, 38 Special, Lover Boy and Triumph together back in the early 80s....it was unforgettable too.

My favorite was a band from Kansas called SHOOTING STAR - they never made it big, but the could really "SHOOT". :D

Lol...nice going C.J....It might have something to do with the size of the ball also. Ronnie O'Sullivan is poetry in motion when he hits a snooker ball. I've also seen him hit a pool ball. When he hits a pool ball it's pretty good motion, but no poetry....you know I'd really love to proofread these posts before I send them out with all these mistakes, but I can't get anywhere negotiating with those 2 little arrows and sometimes there are no arrows at all.

They definitely had that 80's sound with a violin added. Reminded me of the band, Kansas.

I want to use the Shooting Star music in a Pool Movie one day

Great song, well played. Good feelings while listening.

Got a feeling of Queen, and a little of the Beatles.

Shooting Star played at the bar owned by the father of one of the first guys I went on the road with......he lived in St. Joseph MO. - Rick Thompson was his name, I have some funny stories involving some road trips with him.

I want to use the Shooting Star music in a Pool Movie one day....that's my goal anyway, we'll see how it works out. ;) 'The Game is the Teacher'

.Just use "Instinctive Aiming" and make sure you are hitting a hair to the inside

YES.... that is what i am talking about. I caught a gear against the same guy from my earlier post last night --- used 90% TOI and three part pocket system...

Had a chance to win the first set hill hill but missed position on the 6... buried him and he kicked it in and ran out...

second set 1-1 he hooked me on the seven ball.... i kicked two rails under the ball and sent the seven into the corner. -- he didnt get back to the table til 4-1.. --- poor guy was holding in a gnarly pee for a while... and i dont play at warp speed... lol

and then i broke dry he missed and i ran to the 9 -- short shot about 20 degrees and i put a tentative stroke on it... ARGH.... back down to earth..

I won that one a few games later. but i never got back to that gear again.... played good but the concentration shifted and i struggled on a few racks i shouldve ran out.---

mental game was better-- need work on my patterns..

I would recommend you use TOI for an hour and don't "aim," just try to get the cue ball to get to an "extra rail" using TOI.....if you would normally go 0 rails, go 1...if you would normally go 1 rail, go 2 etc...Just use "Instinctive Aiming" and make sure you are hitting a hair to the inside of the cue ball....just let your subconscious make the shots.

This will build up your stoke and show you how vitally important the acceleration is to your game. Once you are accelerating every time it will open up many more ways to go about playing your position.

Try this and get back to me in a few days....it will be well worth your time.

I hear reports from players that the best part of learning TOI is that no one can understand what they're doing......the cue ball reacts different than "usual," and their shot speed is different than "usual," and they don't see to miss the "usual" shots.

The 'Touch of Inside" has unusual qualities and I always liked that, there's nothing worse (for me) than being "normal"......enjoy your new skills with TOI and remember, The Game is now your Teacher and your opponents are now learning from YOUR Game. :D

CJ, this is exactly what I started experiencing since I started practicing with help of your videos. After some time I started just to know where to hit the cue ball and in what direction to shoot. I still miss a lot comparing to what I want to achieve but the fact is certain - consistency is a learnable skill.

I also noticed my consistency improves along with my ability to produce exactly straight shots, that is when I shoot a ball across the long side of 9 ft table with normal speed and acceleration and the ball returns exactly to the tip of my cue.

That's awesome to hear! - you're building a foundation that can be used to create a solid, competitive, structure. The TOI Technique teaches more than it appears, it's a way to train our mind to understand how to "work" or "move" the cue ball......some may even use the term "throw" although [that term] is used in a different reference on this forum.

Once your minds (conscious and subconscious) start to relate and connect to what the cue ball's doing by INTENTIONALLY throwing it off course we reach a whole new level of understanding. This is the stage of developing ZONES and learning institutionally how to increase the margin of error by how to mentally approach each shot and position option. Once you commit to the TOI for three weeks you can start to develop your own style of playing....one that is personally effective and unique to YOU..

Keep it up, you're on a path that will lead to many hours/days and years of improvement AND enjoyment......the game will be your teacher. :thumbup2:

.it's opened up my world and improved my pool game by working on golf

I have been using the TOI since the video came out. It was easy to pick up for me since i already used a center to edge aiming method. Heres some things that i like about the system.

1. It takes all the mental gymnastics out of play. Pick full ball of center to edge and then your TOI, simple as that. No more wheres my contact point will it throw or skid. Its that simple

2. The balls never rattle anymore. I played 2 hours of ring game and 5.5 hours in a tourney last night and never rattled a ball. The inside lets the ball slide right in with ease.

3. One of the biggest advantages that just add up to a higher percentage of play is the elimination of spin and over run of the ball. A few guys were rolling way past their target when using outside english and had no clue. I would say all that spin caused it to keep going. They couldn't understand.

4. It has cut down on scratching immensely. I think i counted 2 scratches during shooting situations. No scratches. No ball in hand for the opponent and no frustrations of making that tuff shot and having a heart breaker as whitey falls into the pocket.

5. I read a comment on AZb of a guy that had a belief these dvds are a money making scheme. Um HELL YEAH they are. Im making money in all ring games and placing in the cash at all 3 tourneys i have played. He also said OLD guys have no time for new learning. If your older, and your eye sight is failing this System is the next best thing to LASICK you will come across. No easier targets than the TOI points.

6. I play maybe 1 - 2 times a week and the stroke and TOI make it easy enough to play well without putting in all the hours i should. I cant wait to get my Table up in the fall and really get in some battles with the GHOST.

It was funny last night a good friend took me to a pool room i never went to before. I heard the railbirds chirping and asking who i was, wheres this KID from ( Im 43 by the way). I bet its that guy MIKES been baking.( I dont know MIKE). I love being the UNKNOWN factor in a new pool room. I got to know a few guys as the evening went on and the questions never stopped.

So thats my TOI journey so far. MONEY MAKING SCHEME - INDEED.

Thanks CJ for sharing this. Need to get tome TIPS BANKING in my routine.

I've started back playing golf again and applying the Touch of Inside concepts in my shot patters (drawing the ball). - recently been working with a Golf Pro named Dan Shauger <dan@aperfectswing.com <http://dan@aperfectswing.com> >

I''ve been working with him (on line) with his TOI and he's been working with me on my golf swing. He said his game's gotten so strong none of his regular games will play anymore. Dan's over 70 and his game just shot up 2 levels....TOI is amazing for some people, but it only works when you try it for 3 hours.....go figure. ;)

There's so many similarities between the two games when you play them both.....it's opened up my world and improved my pool game by working on golf - The Games are the Teacher' :D

One of the keys to playing great golf is approaching and contacting the golf ball from the inside of the shot line. My ability to see margin for error zones is much more advanced than last time I played golf ..... wow, I am learning stuff on AZBILLIARDS ....the "Touch of Inside Golf Stroke".....watch out PGA
