My trip to Vegas

Firstly, let me begin by saying this is by far one of the most fun events I've been to in a long time. Even though the craps table was brutal to me, I still had a blast.

CSI puts on a super event. In addition to tons of fun, CSI has some really REALLY innovative technology in play. They had tournament kiosks setup that allowed a played to scan their players card to see exactly where they were supposed to play. On top of that, each played had the opportunity to have their tournament system send a TEXT MESSAGE to their phone alerting them when their round is about to start and where to be. HOW COOL is dat?

This is expo heaven, checking out all of the booths. However, I think I had the most fun in the "pool school" room, sweating RandyG's lectures. I learned quite a bit --- highly recommended for all levels of play. In fact, I found myself walking around and always ending back up at the pool school room.

I got to see the beloved TAR guys, the lovely Trigger, Cornerman (briefly), Lou Figueroa, Peteypooldude and a few others. All very classy people.

All in all, this was an event to remember. Thanks to that luckbox BJ table that helped me win a few sheckles back a few minutes ago. Nothing like taking a beating all week and then crushing a BJ table to get close to even just before you pass out on the last night. HEY-OH!!!

G'nite - what a blast.

We are inviting Dave back next year. I will give him his own time slot in Pool School.

Every time Dave demonstrated CTE the room took notice. Dave knows CTE! What a nice gentleman. Can't wait for next year.

Bring your props Dave, you'r on....SPF=randyg

Eric -

No worries. I get to Vegas often - 3 or 4 times a year. I'll txt ya the next time I'm in town.

I've been to pool school twice (Randy offers a reduced rate if you want to come back for a refresher course to make sure you're staying on track.) Randy taught me how to break down my mechanics into components so that when I did something wrong, I would know exactly what I did wrong and what to correct - during a match.

Before Vegas, I focused on my Pool School mechanics because I wanted to be in top form. It helped - at the end of day 3 in the Teams open, I had a win percentage of 82%. Thanks Randy!

Well it sure helps when you are a good student like yourself. Maybe I get a little piece of your new toy, break speed.....:-)

Bucktooth was in action shortly at Pool Sharks with Survivor Bob. Seems some posted money supposedly disappeared. Never saw him near a table the rest of the week.

Dave,

Technology is wonderful. I must ask if you played in the 9 ball event? My first match was at 9 AM. My second at 10:30. My third at Noon. My fourth at 6:30!!!!!! Seems their computer shut down. As they relied exclusively on their technology, none of the officials could figure out how to run the event manually. My case was relatively short. I know of players whose matches were delayed by nearly eight hours! With seventy or eighty open tables. They literally shut down the event till 4 PM so they could manually catch up. Guess that's the down side of the same technology.

Holy crap, bucktooth is still in action? I keep reading about this guy, and he was no spring chicken when I last heard of him hustling up action (in pool, keno, whatever).
