my two headed monster,.,.,.,.

I have no problem with taking a good design and putting your own spin on it. Many good cue makers do. As long as they put their own logo on the cue

Don't mind the little hate Leon. I can't wait for my cue now. Every cue I see you pump out is outstanding. In a million years I couldn't see myself pump out over 10-15k for a bb. So I'm more than happy even if you can use ideas of other great minds for a great price. Keep up the amazing game work, see you in a couple weeks at sbe.

I have my own opion about copying others work but that doesn't change the fact that this is a great looking cue - not my usual old school taste, but I could put it to work :)

I think whatever makes him happy is what he should be doing. Maybe just maybe we will see some old school and new school combined and that will become his "look" Important thing is, he is devolping the skill to do it all.
Congrats Leon, well done.

Let’s hope so because openly displaying an attitude of “it doesn’t matter, I’ll build what I want” isn’t something any aspiring cue maker should strive to imitate. I would think that by doing so, it risks further alienating you from your own peers. With so much to draw inspiration from, including other cue designs, there really shouldn’t be a need to clone existing work. When he mentions being open for challenges, he probably should make creativity one of his priorities. It will serve him well in the long run. Best of luck to him.

Spot on... well written... well said...

Tony's butt cap?

I hate when people try and rewrite history. Crown 2003, Paul Rubino late mid to late 90's...The picture is called 7 years ago from when it was originally posted in 2006.

I don't know when Tony did his first cap, but lets say he did copy it. I don't think he did, but lets say he did for the sake of discussion. He has done enough of his own designs, IMHO he can justify grabbing a butt cap.

Is it one piece. I think it is. All of it.
This Cue is easy to like.
But a Black Boar is easy to love.

FYI crown cues are 1 piece many different styles or shapes

Black Boar is 8 pronged bigger and wider also one piece of machined CNC ivory way different than crown cues but we can argue same concept

Leon's is not 1 piece but a thin white but cap and several Inlayed triangles or tips that make it appear it maybe one piece but is not the last he told me because he wanted to be different

My "attitude" is to keep building what the customer want's regardless. i will keep posting pics of the cue as i progress forward with build.

the green manalishi with a two piece Crown!
is actually done in 9 pieces.

I'd like to see you do more of this design with different elements... I haven't seen this take before and there is a lot you could do... Challenge offered.

BTW this is also a borrowed design... I agree he should spruce it up...

Tributes or copies are ok, imo, when done in a limited, respectful manner. Where it becomes an issue or problem is when that practice defines virtually the entire body of your work. Just my 2 cents fwiw.

I have been following your cue building for a while now.....and have always missed out on some of the great cues you have made.
I am always fascinated by the variety of cue styles that you make. Not the same thing on every cue. Always something new and interesting. Love it and on that note.....

Consider this one sold! I think this is going to be one great looking and playing cue.

Lets put an ivory piloted joint with a 5/16x14 pin.
Lets put a black baby lizard wrap on it and
make the shafts one a 12.75mm and one a 12.00mm.
