my two headed monster,.,.,.,.

I hate when people try and rewrite history. Crown 2003, Paul Rubino late mid to late 90's...The picture is called 7 years ago from when it was originally posted in 2006.

I don't know when Tony did his first cap, but lets say he did copy it. I don't think he did, but lets say he did for the sake of discussion. He has done enough of his own designs, IMHO he can justify grabbing a butt cap.

JV

the crown butt cap was a copy so i guess you own a copied cue...welcome to the club sir.
i'm going to build what i want how i want end of story...crayon with perfection
i might build 50 more. so feel free to hate on me.
Amazing what people do..... yeah but it's not amazing what others can do that's so "easy"

and yes the originator of the crown butt cap was from crown cues!!!

With all the talent that you possess, you owe it to yourself to be original. I'm not a cuemaker but if I was one, I would strive to be one that would be remembered. Even a simple design like a Zylr, for instance, will be remembered. Only for the fact that the design is original!

Beautiful cue either way! 1/5 of the price of a Black Boar? Not bad for a tribute cue.

Sure.... I think elements are more exact to Bob Harris's cue...

keep doing what i do REGARDLESS I WILL HAVE FUN;)
I'M ALL DONE WITH THREAD.

jealousy & haters rears its head again i'm loving it.

Build whatever you want to build leon...That's what GOD gave you talent for! Nice cue! And I don't know why people hate on this when there's about other 50,000 cues that looks the same

I agree. I just feel like Leon is one of those cuemakers that has what it takes to contribute something new to the art of cue making that we all greatly appreciate.

You are a true artist my friend. Amazing looking cue. As far as so called tribute cues, I paid at least 70k for them happily. I love cues.:thumbup:

All cues will sell especially tribute cues. You can get the look for a fraction of the price. I'm not against buying tribute cues myself. The point is that the amount of work and talent put into this cue could have ended up with a cue that knock your socks off if originality was added. Leon put this cue up for us to enjoy but yet all could see is "man that looks like a Black Boar".

For the record...Not hating Leon. Not jealous. Just showing where the middle part of the design came from....

Leon's interpretation of what some see as either Tony's design or Bob's design is just that his interpretation. Only a close up of the final finished cue will show how well he has executed the inlays and execution of the build. My hat's off to all the builders that push the envelope and inspire other's to follow suit. Maybe this will be a one off for Leon and in the process he will have learned some new techniques that will inspire him to do something innovative that other's will then use as inspiration to do the same. JMO!!!!!

As always,nice work Leon
You have to charge $1,200 for a shaft or you will be selling yourself short
