My US Open hopes may be gone, say some prayers, please.

After twenty years without entering a major event, I finally planned to play in the US Open. I have done OK in some smaller tourneys, and am hitting them pretty well. I have had a few good gambling wins lately, and convinced myself to enter this year. However.... one week ago, my girlfriend of almost two years ago got hit broadside with my 3 year old in the back carseat. Thanks to God that the 3 year old escaped without a scratch. Lauren, on the other hand, broke her ankle, lower vertebrae, and has road rash from head to toe. She goes in for surgery on Monday for her ankle, then later for her back. She was thrown twenty feet from the car. Maybe I will play next year. I need to take care of her, now. If there is a miracle, maybe I can make it to Goldsboro for a night or two, but it looks like I won't make the Open. Prayers, please. WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS, fellas and ladies. That Graco carseat saved my little girl's life, by the way. Take care.

My prayers are with all of ya'll. It sounds like you are doing the right thing to be there with her right now, there is always time for pool, take care of the ones you love first. Keep us updated please

That sucks man. At least the little one is ok, like you wrote prolly because of a decent car-seat.

We sell Graco products and they are good, Maxi-Cosi, Romer and Recaro are at least as good.
All Euro brands though.

The US open will still be there next year, luckily so will you three.

That's horrible news, Crawfish. I'm glad to hear your little one is OK & I hope everything goes well for your g/f. It's times like this that pool doesn't matter one bit, family comes first when they need you.

As 9ballrun said, please keep us updated.

Wishing all of you the very best,

Ade.

You've got your priorities set perfect. Glad to hear it. Good luck with the GF mend. Lucky you with the daughter! Thanks for the heads-up. You never know when it is your time to go.

Horrible

Very sad to read your post. I wish you and your family well. I would recommend hiring a lawyer.

Sorry to hear about the news. The Open will be there next year. The important thing is her health. My prayers are with you.

I'm so glad that everyone survived! She will mend quickly with your support and your family will be closer than ever after this ordeal. Hold your family close! There will always be another pool tournament.

Follow the Open right here on AZ. You know that many people will be posting every day. And I promise to give you an inside look at what's happening in Manila at the WPC. With all the skuttlebutt thrown in. :)

I am praying for you and your loved ones

Thank the Lord that your little one is alright. Also your girlfriend will be alright as well and knowing that you are there I'm sure brings comfort for them. God Bless You and everyone!

I hope all goes well for her and she makes a full recovery in time. Thank God for the protection of the child seats of today. This could have been a much worse tragedy.

I wish you all the best.

Pool comes last.................take care of loved ones first!

We will pray for you bud!

You just experienced one of the things we all dread, a serious life threatening accident involved people we love. Hopefully, the worst part of this ordeal is over. Thank God they survived! And everyday, every time you look at them, you'll know that missing the U.S. Open and instead "being there" for them, meant more to them than if you had WON the U.S. Open.
Congratulations on the correct decision.
Thoughts, best wishes and prayers...

You are so lucky to still have each other. I don't know of any events bigger or more important than being there for a loved one in a time of need. Be thankful you are still a "family" and that the little one was so well protected.

Prayers of thankfulness going out on your behalf and for your girlfriend's quick healing.

It's amazing that neither was seriously hurt. God bless your entire family, and tend to them in their times of need.

Sometimes, these things come along that make us realize we're mortal. Hug your kids more, spend time with your loved ones, because you never really know how long you have them for.

Looks like God was looking out for your loved ones, craw. You must be living right. Good luck at the Open next year.

I'm willing to bet hugs from your little girl have never felt so good.
