I am considering a wrapless merry widow style cue. The two builders I am researching are Ned Morris and Jon Spitz. I have looked into threads here on AZ and the internet for basic info on their product quality, hit, and there reputations in the business. I would appreciate any feedback or comments if anyone has owned a cue from either builder or both. Any personal experience with either builder or both. From what I have gathered so far it sounds like both guys make a great cue and are really good to deal with. Thanks for any help or input you can provide on this subject.

I don't think I've ever played with Spitz but I do own a Ned Morris and it would probably take someone offering to pay for my son's college for 4 years for me to sell it. I may trade it for a new car also. But aside from that, I'm keeping it.
I have played with quite a few good cues, Mike Webb, Shuler, Schick, AE, Samsara, others, I like the Ned Morris over all of them for the feel of the hit and balance.

Ned is a superb cuemaker. His dedication to excellence in his cuemaking is unsurpassed. You can't go wrong with having Ned Morris make you a cue!

I've had cues by both cue makers. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
I got a Ned Morris in a trade deal a couple years ago and loved the way it hit. I traded it strictly because I wasn't a big fan of the way it looked and was offered a pretty good trade for a Shurtz. I would love to pick up another one, it played spectacular.
Don't know about Spitz but do know about Ned. I have a Schrager that needed the pin replaced and had a couple of cue makers that passed on the work for what ever reason. Maybe they were afraid of something going wrong.
I took it to Ned and had him do the work. After leaving his shop I was truly amazed at his knowledge and workmanship. I have never heard any thing negative about Ned. I would have confidence in having him do any thing for me.

A friend of mine bought a Spitz cue at the SBE a few years ago. I tried it out and liked it so much I ordered one from Jon - a full splice 4 veneer wrapless rosewood.
He was easy to deal with and the cue came out great.
Feel is a subjective thing, but the finish was fantastic. I don't think you can go wrong with him.

Hello...I spoke to Ned Morris a few weeks ago, because he bought some tips from me. Anyway, I found out he has been mentoring Carlos Coll of Coll Cues for the last 10 years. I have played with a 2 of Coll Cues and must have to say that they hit amazing. My thinking is, you can't go wrong with one of Ned's Cues.
I have a cue from both of the cue makers you mentioned. Both play very well and don't think you could go wrong with either one.
