I would not offer more than 1000 for the cue. I probably would offer less, but that is just me.

There are tons of cues out there and if you can get it cheap great, if not there is always alot of nice ones out there.

The case is the jewel of this deal IMO, lot of potential value.

Richard Black used that identical 6 slot ring work at the joint, whereas the ring work Gus used usually contained 8 slots. :cool:
 
It's A Black, I Have Almost No Doubt. I've Had Several That Were Basicly Identical To It. His Early Points Ranged Drasticly In Width, But These Are Well Within The Tolerances That I've Seen.

I Also Agree With Sean That The Case Is Worth More Than The Cue, Even In The Shape It's In......

Also, the butt cap is not the proper shape (too much radius) to be one of Gus's cue.

I was traveling much of last week and missed the Roadshow. However, I did receive my semi-annual PP magazine in the mail.
Listed in the magazine was a 1949 "steel" case PP perpetual calendar that sold at Christie's on May 12, 2008 for $4,016,500. It was once owned by race car driver Briggs Cunningham and is a record price for a steel case wristwatch.

While stock markets are plummeting, high-end cues and watches are still appreciating in value ... thank god.
