Need help.What to do-scenario

Ok this is my first time trying to use the table layout option. So anyways I been playing against the ghost and I broke and made a ball and ended up with this layout.
What would you guys do in this situation? I played a safety but had to cut the one so thin it actually gave the opponent a pretty decent kick shot for the side and I didn't feel comfortable with leaving my opponent that shot if I was in a tournament. I'm just trying to get a few perspectives on this layout.Thanks

Also, you can play the opposite safety, put the 1 in the cluster of balls.

If you can put the object ball in a cluster, IMO its always better as there is more "traffic" to get the cue ball through and increases the chance of BIH.
 
Lately I been working on my cue ball control on the breaks so if I get my cue ball in the middle of the table and make a ball on the break I will leave it where it stands to try and practice real world scenarios. Sounds strange but I concentrate a lot better knowing if I run out then I had no help in giving myself BIH
 
Cut the one into a cross bank to sink it in the side pocket leaving the cue on a decent shot on the two.
 
Scenerio's:

1. Start of the match:
Bank Shot - look where the 9 is - you can make a lot happen.
Under-cut the bank - the one will lay somewhere near the 9...

2. Mid-match, your up and playing well
Bank with full committment. Stop the cue ball for position on the 2

3.1. End match - hill-hill - not playing well at all.
Go and hide that mother - but dont scratch in the middle bag.

3.2 Bank that mother!!!


All depends on your game; the stegnth of your game; and the weekness of your oponent. Do you ALWAYS watch how your oponent plays..?

Are you asking what you would do if this shot came up in a match? Cuz obviously if you're playing the Ghost, you're not playing a safety.

In a match situation, I think banking the 1-ball out and ducking by th 5-ball is my first choice.

Z bank the one up on the 9 ball and freeze the cue ball behind the 8 ball to assure ball in hand on the combo.

IMO, if you play strongly enough to pull off that precision shot, you should probably just bank the one and run out.

I would choose Cornerman's shot.
 
Ya I was playing the ghost.
I'm not good enough to run out all the time so I allow myself to play a
safety against the ghost and if I can't make a good hit then I will give myself BIH.
However if I make a good hit I will rerack. Thanks for the comments guys.
Opened up my eyes on a few different shots

You would have to be there, but the one ball looks like it could be thrown in the side pocket possibly also, or carom the 5 ball in,lol. I mostly put the roll the ball on the cheese, and get safe, because a lot of player never think of it. It is an easy run out if you bank the one ball and control whitey.:thumbup:
 
Bank the 1 cross corner with some top to come out one rail for the 2 in the bottom right corner. The safety behind the 5 is a better shot, but if you have to shoot all out offense, the bank is what I would take.
 
given that you have a single inning to be winning...

I'd prob bangk the 1 into the side pocket an try to carom the 5 in the corner (with CB). I might even close one eye...coz it cant't really get all that much less fortunate.

You don't want to start from there every game against el Caspero, I tell you that.
