Hoping someone could help me with the value and/or model number of this
old Viking cue with a Super Joint, and when it might have been made.
Sorry about the pics. They are all I have right now. By the way, if you dont
know whats its worth, would you please share what you would pay for it
if you had the chance to buy it? Thanks all in advance, Dom.

O.K. guys, If you had to guess, or if you were to sell, or if you
wanted the cue and were to make an offer, where would you
put this cue at? What would your offer be, or what would you
be asking? Just trying to get an opinion here for an approximate
value. Thanks again.

Not mine yet Randy, but I have a lead on it. Just need to know if It would
be worth buying or not. Truth be told, I need another cue like I need
anther hole in the head, but I'd like to know what is worth none the less.

Viking thread-HRs

I just bought this on ebay, it is similar to the stick that started this thread but does not have a "super joint". It seems very close to the stick I had in '67 but I think my original stick had a white joint. I have not found this stick in the blue book. The logo looks too new to be an early stick to me but I don't think the forearm is BEM which I assume would make it an early cue.

Any comments on when this was made? Could it be from "67?

I also need another cue like I need another hole in my head, but my first impression is that $250 would be a fair price.

Not in my opinion. I would say 1983 or there abouts. Both the cues in this thread are three point cues (I think) and are on the basic side of what Viking was making back then. If I were to guess I would be right along with the other posters who ventured a guess. Near perfect condition might hit $300.

They are both nice cues but I believe they were also 57 inch long when new. I might be wrong about the length but I have two about that vintage and both are just a little short, still cool.

Yes, it's an A110 - from 1983 - 1988 time period. It retailed for $110 in 1983 - hence the model number - and was up to $132 in 1988. I'm thinking later 1980's because of the logo (but I could be wrong).

I agree, the logo makes it later I think.

So far these IDs are bang on I think, and the values as well.

I have an example of such a cue with vinyl points from about 81. I also have a later three vinyl point Viking from the 90's.

Very cool cues, and very cool to have one with a superjoint I think. Fun to play with, fun to own, and a nice example of cues of that genre and period.

Too often when we think of "collector value" we think of high end "investment" cues. These types of cues do have collector value, there are plenty of people who collect the lower end production stuff simply because they are more affordable.

I would say the idea of $250 is fair enough. Personally, I like the one with the superjoint. Mine from 81 does not have a superjoint but I do have a 70's Viking with that joint, a four pointer.

Thank you guys. I will get the cue in a day or two. I paid $150 for it. It had a buy now price and was only a couple hours old so I snagged it. The listing says the original shaft is slightly warped and 29" and that there is a generic second shaft that is 27".
My concern about the A!!0 ID is, that is supposed to be an ebony points and butt sleeve; this isn't. Can anyone tell if the HRs were three points? Could this have been sent toViking for refinishing and have gotten a new butt plate?
Thanks for the validation on what a collectable might mean to different people. I have never paid more than $300 for a stick but have loved everyone like a child. I wish I had the three sticks in my sig back but I now have close relatives of two of them and am pleased.

No it does not look like Ebony but rather a Rosewood maybe. $150 with two shafts you did ok as long as there is nothing major wrong with it. It looks great in the pics.

These three point cues were cool because....well they were three points :D.
I have one that is from 83 at least that is what the sticker indicated, I bought it new in 95> dusty and on the back shelf:cool:

I saw it on Ebay but didn't want to mess with your potential buy so I didn't say anything.

Personally I think it's a great price. The original shaft is nice for display, and you have the "generic" shaft for play. If you want at some point you can have the joint rings put on the straight shaft.

I think it's a great cue to have, very nostalgic of the times.

The cues I have in general are 60's 70's and 80's but I have them up to 100 years old. 90's and newer to me are new cues.

I've never paid more than $200 for a cue and only once did I pay $200. That was for an Espiritu. I think his cues are seriously undervalued.

Enjoy the Viking. Very cool cue.

Damn I like that cue.

Very cool to buy them as NOS.
