I agree with Darcy here.
In addition, adding something to it is not going to make it play better, and that IS the primary consideration. Plus, adding inlays is going to require a refinish and it's got a leather wrap, so that must be protected or removed and replaced.
It was a gift/prize to begin with. Take the cue, sell it for what you can, and order another with the bling on it that you desire, would be my advice.

WOW...I'm a little shocked. What makes you feel it's not a $2200 cue? I'd like to think the Espiritu name add just a little value, but the cue looks decent. I'd suggest you sell it and buy something you can totally customize. What a $2200 cue to Espiritu is not anymore or any less than a $2200 cue from "Joe Cuemaker". Just an FYI, but if you order a $2000 cue from any cue maker and you call and tell them you don't feel it's a $2000 cue, I highly doubt you'll be faced with the kindness and generosity of Russ as he has show. Not saying all cue makers are tyrants...but you get the picture.
