I recently purchased a cue that was identified as an early Helmstetter, the cue is certainly not a Helmstetter.
The materials the cue is made from date the cue to the late 50's through the mid-60's. The cue is 57 1/4 inches longs and it weights 20.2 oz, the cue is .830 thousands at the joint and 1.230 thousands at the cues butt.
The phenolic collars on this cue are the old style phenolic and they are Black with a White ring, both materials are old style phenolic. The cues butt cap is Delrin and was made without a bumps similar to the first catalog Palmers. The cues joint appears to be silver along with the metal rings at the A joint. Also at the A Joint in between the silver rings are to thin Black Phenolic rings with a Mother of Pearl ring in the center.
The cues forearm appears to be Brazilian Rosewood that is very highly figured. The cue wrap is real Alligator Hide, and it appears to date to the time the cue was made. The cues butt is Ebony with three Yellow Plastic rings in a pattern I have never seen used before.
The cues shaft is 13.5 mm at the ferrule and the cues joint pin 5/16-14 brass into a brass piloted shaft insert. The cue is perfectly straight together and apart, and best of all hits a ton, no rattles, no tinks, just a solid smack, which is pretty uncommon after all these years. The cues finish is flaking in many places, however, this is the only problem I can find, and over all it is small.
If anyone can identify the cues maker from either the information provided or the photographs please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!!!!!!
